Pretty good start to trolling in this game hope to see them work on it more as only being able to put spinning and casting rods in the rod holder is lame. Great set of rods at a pretty good price would still recommend this dlc as the trolling is still lots of fun

Dnipro is a lovely map with all types of fish. The biggest fish (beluga, catfish and two types of carp) are bottom feeders. So you will not be able to catch them with the rods included in this pack. The remaining fish are so small that the rods are crazy overpowered and will give you a massive XP penalty. Even the odd 20kg uni pike is no match for a 27kg spinner. Also strange is that this DLC gives you a ton of lures to bring along, but no bag to put them in. What now?
The boat is very hard to manage: It has no trolling motor and you fish from the back, so you always have to turn around or drive over your fishing spot first. The trolling gets old fast: Only crankbait and minnows are really viable since it is super hard to manage soft lures and spoons. And then the bites are so scarce that you would probably have more luck trolling by holding a rod in a regular boat.
However, the rod holders do open up another 'unique' use: You can raise anchor AFTER hooking a fish. This means you can drop anchor and stay in position in fast moving water, like any jungle map has. Once you hook a big fish, park the rod in a holder, hop to the front, lift anchor and grab the rod again through SHIFT + 1. This will let you catch much bigger fish than you otherwise could.
In all, the tackle is nice, the map is nice and the boat is so-so. The DLC itself is less than the sum of its parts, however. If you want to 'grind' the best XP/money, this is probably not meant for you.

Trolling on the Dnipro River is really a great time. There are many reaches (stretches of straight water) on the river that allow for longer trolling runs. The rods and reels are great, although the "Black Needle" spinning rod can be somewhat difficult to troll with. It has long length and fairly fast action, so it can be difficult to see the rod tip bending when it is in a rod holder and the boat is moving. To compensate I use the high visibility green monofilament so that I can watch for line movement, and I back down on drag setting two notches because of the strength mismatch (the monofilament is meant to go on the "Molfar Pro" casting reel where you only have to go down one notch).
I recommend using a titanium leader when trolling because the line has a tendency to go slack when you are fighting two fish at once, increasing the likelihood of getting bitten off. Uni pike take no prisoners. Similarly, be careful when netting a big fish. You have to guide the fish alongside the boat before you can net it, and at some point the fish is too close to reel in, so move the hand holding the rod to keep the tension up until netting is possible.
Overall the equipment and location are great. The Black Needle rod is great for casting cicada spoons and crazy walkers, and I like trolling it with the bionic slug jig (pick up the rod periodically to see how far down the slug is trolling and adjust by reeling in or out; you can also try changing the weight of the jighead to affect depth). The Trident casting rod pairs with any kind of crankbait or diving minnow lure and trolls wonderfully.
I recommend buying a glow-in-the-dark shad lure and bringing a high-powered match rod and telescopic pole to catch non-predatory and smaller fish with. There are plenty of baits sold at the location store. There are two monster missions at Dnipro River and they are on the harder side. Ask around if you are having trouble finding a particular species.
P.S. I wish the boat had adjustable mirrors. This would make it easier to watch the rods from the driver's seat. You can steer while looking backwards, but watch out for boat traffic on the lower Dnipro!

I love this DLC, it does suck that the rod holders are ONLY for casting rods, they wont work for Bait fishing. A lot of people seem to have problems catching fish while trolling but I have never had an issue. It is actually pretty easy and really fun once you learn how to do it right. I've caught a lot of unique and big fish while trolling! I found this trolling boat to be really nice after hours on end of sitting on my Congo discovery pack boat just waiting. Its nice to drive while fishing sometimes, and the sonar is very very accurate.

A huge map with many interesting spots to farm big uniques. A boat for trolling and few powerful spinning rods. All this for a very affordable price tag, no complaints.

Great bang for the buck, but trolling could sure use some improvements. What's needed, imo:
- Adjust boat speed and anchor from rear
- Bite alarms
- Fixed adjust to 1 % boat speed (or whatever considered the best for trolling)
- Pike and some other fish doesn't seem to bite much (on some maps)?

Are you serious for not be able to use the rod holders (in the boat) for the bottom fishing rods? is this a joke? This game is turning into a scam. Will be my last DLC that i will buy. Lesson learnt...Find another stupid to pay your overpriced or limited what you can do or have DLCs..To bad i can not refund.

The DLC is good, just your typical Fishing Planet boat pack. In other words, get it for the boat, the premium and some lures and sell everything else for baitcoins, if not immediately then when you can replace it with in-game gear because there's nothing special about any of it. It just has fancy skins that you will barely ever see.
The map that released alongside the DLC is really great. Every bit as well made as the Amazon and Congo maps and hands down the best designed map in it's level range.
