IF you are trying to work out whether you sould buy this game or not then all I can say is have a crack at it. I'm not upset about spending $20 on it.
I've only just started playing Splinter Cell earlier this year and it's a nice break from COD and Battlefield. I prefer Solo play and this meets my need to shoot stuff up and cut a bit of stress loose. The stealth options are excellent. There are only a few moments where the game puts you in a spotlight, where using stealth is very difficult. However if you are patient and cunning you can still sneak up on the enemy. The stealth is similar to Sniper elite. You have to be really cunning and make sure you move quickly, before you get detected, after shooting someone. If you get detected, all hell breaks loose. I like the fact that you have to work for it.
It's been quite exciting watching games evolve over the last 35 years. I still have memories of Jump Joe on Commodore 64. Now I know this kinda shows my age a bit but hey, once a gamer, always a gamer. Conviction is way better than Double agent, it would have to be on par with Blacklist ( in my humble opinion). Good graphics nice flow in the missions. I get an occasional glitch but it's not enough to make me not want to play. I give it 9/10

Okay, so after scouring forums to find out how to activate this game (because support is impossible to get a hold of), you need to redeem the key IN GAME, not via the Uplay app.
Below was my original review.
"Don't buy this. I bought it, but I can't activate it. I've tried to contact Ubisoft support, but trying to get in touch with them is like pulling teeth. After filling out the support case form on Ubisoft support, it tells me that there is no one behind the support desk to chat with me, and does not offer an email address where I can reach them."

TOTAL SCAM
I purchased this DLC couple years ago. I recently downloaded the game to play it for the first time
I noticed I dont see the extra missions in my game that this DLC is suppose to provide
I investigated and it turns out that I have to activate code for them inside the game
I launched the game and went to the place where I should redeem the code
I then saw a message saying online server is not online
I then reached to Ubi support about this
I then received a message that the servers are shut down and I cannot get my content I PAID FOR in any way
I then asked them to provide me with Ubi Store version of the game where you dont need to activate code to get DLC content
I then received a message that they are very sorry but they cannot provide me with the requested copy of the game
I then came to conclusion that UBI SOFT is a sh*tty company that I will never buy anything from unless it is on deep sale and cost max 2$.
DONT SUPPORT SUCH SCUMMY COMPANY THAT SCREWS OVER THEIR CUSTOMER AND DONT EVEN CORRECT THEIR MISTAKE WHEN THEY PERFECTLY CAN

I bought it.
It installed.
And it didn't work...
Since the game's servers were put offline by Ubisoft there's no way I can activate the DLC without them..
Freaking crapy company that completely threw away all the game infrastructure and still keeps selling it..
Big L on my forehead now.
Please don't buy this piece of $%^$#

To Activate.....
WHILST INSIDE THE GAME. AT THE MAIN MENU.....
EXTRAS MENU >>>>> EXCLUSIVE CONTENT >>>>>> REDEEM CODE >>>>>> Type in the redeem code for the DLC that Steam popped up when you ran the game (it won't let you PASTE)
A message then tells you that the content will either be downloaded, or most likely, that it is already available in the DENIABLE OPS section of the game (as Steam already downloaded it) listed under the MAPS part of the D.O. screen.

Due to the servers being shut down, this DLC is quite literally unplayable. Ubisoft are selling DLC on the Steam Store that you cannot even look at in game.
The single-player itself is very good, but selling unusable DLC is highly immoral if not illegal.

Previously, this DLC was activated by going in-game, opening the Extras menu, going to 'Exclusive Content' where there was a button to redeem codes, and you would put in this DLC's CD key.
However,
Because Ubisoft are incompetent morons, their server shutdown for this game means you cannot open said menu to put the key in. Ubisoft is selling completely unusable products on the store (and btw the files are on your computer, game just can't use them) and is another example that 'AAA' game publishers don't give a fuck about their customers.
Note: if you have activated this DLC in the past and want to play them post-server shutdown, you can still play them. Search the game on PCGamingWiki and look for the 'Disable black and white filter' fix, or I have the files myself.

Digital Blasphemy
Do not Buy!!
Ubisoft is still selling the insurgency pack DLC, While those content aren't available to buyers anymore.
Severs are shutdown totally.
That removed content can be played single player and Ubisoft decided not to incorporate the DLC content that user bought, into single player, But rather closed and abandoned the DLC, While still available on sale (July 2022).
That is bad business model of Ubisoft.
Stop buying Ubisoft Online games, They all have to shutdown one day. All the money lost.

December 2022: Just follow this awesome and simple guide and the DLC will work: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2565404306
This DLC includes exactly 4 maps for Hunter mode and 12 maps for Last Stand mode. I think it's little content, especially nowadays, when you can only play solo and will probably focus on Hunter. But I just can't get enough of stealth gameplay, so for me it was an okay purchase with a 75% discount.

UPDATE: Like many I was unsure how to access it, after some research (shouldn't be necessary but ALL THE STEPS ARE BELOW) and reading several blogs you have to go into Deniable Ops and select the levels. They are very good and worth it, you can play covert or not on the new maps. I've got about 16 hours out of the about 10 new big maps, about as long as the story mode took! Hunter mode is great, have to take out 10-12 in stealth or they call for backup (10 more, if spotted).
First things first: you bought the DLC what now?
1. you let steam update the game
2. when steam is done updating the game, you start it
3. you open the steam community in-game
4. click the little CD Key link on the upper left
5. a new window pops up showing the Insurgancy Serial Key, Write it down or remember it or whatever
See Detailed Image Here:

6 go to Extra -> Exclusive Content and Click Redeem Code in the Lower Right corner and a new window pops up.
See Detailed Image Here:
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...eralM/SCC2.jpg
7. Enter the code you wrote down earlier in the box and click OK
8. Game should say something about the content being available after it's been downloaded (steam already did that for us)
9. go back to the main menu and go to deniable Ops
10. click on the map selection box (you should see one of the maps in the list (dunno if that depends on screen resolutions or not)
See Detailed Image Here:
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...eralM/SCC3.jpg
11. Scroll down using Arrow Keys or Mousewheel and you should see the 4 new maps at the bottom of the list
See Detailed Image Here:

12. Most Importantly: ENJOY your DLC!
It's kinda weird (it not having a scroll bar or an indication), but hey at least you can find them now
if the PC or the game has issues connecting to the Splinter Cell Conviction server, the DLC maps do NOT show up in your map list. Via DragonFly
