Don't let the oldie-but-goldie graphics deter you - this is a pure action game, with extremely addictive gameplay and one heck of a soundtrack to boot!

This brings me back to 6th grade when I played this game on my first Motorola flip phone. A lot of fun playing it all these years later!

This is the most infuriating game I've ever played. Pretty well-designed tho, which means the evil devs did this on purpose.

Zuma Deluxe is a 2-D, match 3, puzzle game.
Strategize and Match colored marbles, rack up combos, fill up the meter, and try not to panic as you play through 70 levels of pure nostalgia.
Starting off, Adventure Mode; there are a total of 12 stages to play through, each with their own level count, and varying degree of difficulty as you progress through the game. As certain stages are reached in the game, it will begin to slowly introduce new additions to your adventure to make things a bit more challenging; such as new colored marbles or a level with an extra lane to make things more intense. There is also a story in here, in the form of dialogue, it is short, but it is still something to enjoy while you play through the mode. The game also provides a unique set of power-up's, each one with its own use and can either finish a level quickly or help turn a level around if things get too chaotic.
Finished Adventure mode and want to test your skills? Then try out Gauntlet mode! Here your goal is to survive as long as can on a level of your choice, while matching and getting combos in an endless barrage of marbles and madness. Aim for a new high score, or break old ones.
In addition, the music in this game is so nostalgic and the sound effects just add an extra layer to it, giving moments of pure enjoyment when your nailing combos flawlessly and hitting those power ups. Even the music and sounds that shift when your losing and the marbles are getting close to there end points just brings so much tension and pressure that it really adds to the experience. Love it so much!
It's crazy to think this game came out 21 years ago, i remember playing this game when it first came out and never actually beating it. Now playing it again in 2025, i really missed playing this game and I'm really glad I finished it completely this time around. If anyone hasn't played this game and is looking for something new to play, or is a fan of "Popcap" games I would highly recommend giving this game a try, and if you have played Zuma Deluxe back in it's hay day, I would still gladly recommend picking this game back up and playing it again.

oh boy, where do i even start.
firstly i want to say that zuma is a cool game, it's fun, basic, but definitely fun, and somewhat addictive in it's design. you crave that extra level, to hit that extra combo, to hear the announcer voice go "ZUMA!" idk why, but something about it just makes you wanna keep playing more.
at the same time, when you start to hear that little heartbeat noise, and then it starts to get faster as you get closer to losing, i think this is truly one of the most terrifying aspects of zuma. the game has this way of shocking actual fear into you as you get closer to losing, and sure, you can just click the restart button, but at the same time, who wants to do that? it's fun feeling like you're clearing the game with ease... sometimes...
which leads me to another point i have, i REALLY THOUGHT I WOULD HATE THIS GAME, for the sheer fact that it LOOKS EASIER THAN IT IS! i mean there's no gameplay trailer for when i bought this game in the popcap bundle on steam, and yes i could've looked up gameplay of it, but i was too busy obsessing over the fact that i get both peggle deluxe and plants vs zombies GOTY edition within the same bundle for around $5, i mean what a steal right?
anyways yeah, i was too distracted by this fact to even give zuma the time of day, it looked like an easy game, and i didn't care enough to give it a chance upon first glance. this game is the definition of "don't judge a book by it's cover," because there are far more things to learn and explore about the game than one may think, and the process of simply "aiming and shooting at the balls," is both harder and more complex in some ways than many might think. not sure what took me this long to get around to zuma, but i'm not at all disappointed when it comes to difficulty.
i'd also like to note that unlike other popcap games like peggle and pvz goty, i didn't have any sort of nostalgia with zuma upon going into the game, which might've changed my initial review or perspective of the game upon first playing it; however, i think this actually did good in zuma's case, as the main menu screen feels exactly like the OG PVZ when i first played it back on the iPad as a kid. this game ROCKS! and it hits with that whole nostalgia feel regardless of whether i got to play it in the past or not.
highly recommend, give this game a shot.
