I'm kind of disappointed. There's nothing new with this Cursed House, although I do like that the cursed house scene has gotten away from the "horns growing everywhere" - no, really, don't get me started on "horny house" jokes - and now has just an eerie look to it which slowly changes as you un-curse the house. If you simply like getting new levels, it's OK. But the solutions to these levels all seemed very textbook after a while, and they're not even all that hard. The difficulty reminds me more of the Spellarium series than Cursed House. There are no levels which can be rendered impossible or even "now it's going to take ages" if you do things in the wrong order. Many of the solutions are a powerup fest, where you keep using the same 2 powerups again and again. There are also way too many minigames! For a game of 90 M3 levels, there are a whopping 48 minigames total when I checked in the level replay area. You are literally getting a minigame every level or 2, which is pretty annoying. If there had just been the 25 Sokoban puzzles, that would have been more than enough, but you also get 15 solitaires and 8 spot the difference scenes. The Sokoban puzzles seem a little harder than when this minigame was first introduced to the Cursed House series, and I liked them, but sheesh, having one appear all the time...uh, no. It gets a "yes" from me, but just barely. And I'm on the fence about doing more walkthroughs in the future since there doesn't seem to be much interest in them, and I'm getting too busy with other things. If you've never played any of the Laruaville, Spellarium, or Cursed House games ever or don't have every game and enjoy casual puzzles, this will be fun and different, but I'm starting to think the developer really needs to come up with something else and retire these series.
