It is true the 'survivors-like / bullet-heaven' genre is pretty crowded, however I think dismissing this one just on that basis misses the boat a bit.
Coming in under $5, this one does provide solid value (for some) and has a few minor twists:
1) It's one of the few "non-weapon" games. While the chuminis function "like" weapons, for the most part you control them indirectly.
2) Partly as a result of that, this game makes me think about movement and space a bit differently, particularly when using the 'Shy' and 'Follower' chuminis. 'Bounty of One' was another VS-like (that overall was less good) that did one thing really well which was make the player think about how to maximize movement in ways a lot of others don't. Just having to think a bit differently in a largely-familiar game space I find personally very interesting.
3) Again, for $5, I think this game is well polished and solid value for the time/money even if it's probably a game I'll move on from after 8-12 hours, unlike say YAZS where I'm 40 hours in.
So sure, if you could only buy one VS-like, buy YAZS or DRG:S, but viewed on its own merits, if the aesthetics/concepts appeal to you, I do think this is well done and just different enough to be an interesting addition.
Edit: Oh, and I do think the soundscape (music/effects) are very well done in flushing out the game.

Chumini: Tiny Army is a fun little vampire survivor / bullet heaven game with a slight change of concept: you're not firing bullets. Instead, you're building an army of tiny creatures sort of resembling colorful gummy bear fruit gum candies.
Each Chumini color has its unique movement pattern. Some stay close to you, others go rampant till you call them back. Some are cheerful, others are sad. It's such a fun mix of graphics and mechanics.
Like many of these type of games, there's also meta progression. These unlock new Chuimini colors (you start with a small bunch) and give you upgrades like health, damage, and alike.
With 10 levels of difficulty and a sweet ton of achievements to unlock, there's a lot of evenings to have fun with trying out combinations and synergies between the types. It's not really a hard game, though if you go for the achievements, there are a few require some thought.
Colorful, cheerful and simply fun.
Edit: they just released another map with different monsters and a higher difficulty. So if you're up for a challenge, the game has that too now.

Imagine Vampire Survivors but with Pikmin and you get this game. The interesting twist is that all of these weird potato things have their own behavior that you need to manage in order to rack up damage. Its a nice idea and offers a lot of variety when it comes to replay value. The only issue is that because all of them have their own behavior, it causes a bit of forced synergy during early game as sometimes it causes a lot of trouble trying to get them to deal enough damage. Despite this issue, its an interesting take on the survivors genre and while management heavy compared to other games in this genre, its a good game for what it offers.
