I'd give this game a 5/10 in it's current state, which I don't think is necessarily bad, I just think this early on I should be generous with my thoughts on this game's future, because it definitely has potential. My thoughts are:
- Simple graphics are nice, but it would be nice to have clarifications of what things are if we were to hover our mouse over them or a mechanic like that.
- Controls are a bit "mechanical." Although they are deceptively simple, doing things requires a bit of getting used to the controls, which in my opinion, are a little awkward and could be rearranged or reformatted in a way that facilitates quick and smooth actions that feel more natural to navigate quickly and efficiently.
- Small thing, but when the car goes straight upward or downward it becomes visibly smaller than if driving diagonally or horizontally.
- This game is what it promises, a more casual relaxing type of game, but I would like to see in the future perhaps a more chaotic mode, where natural disasters, large creatures, and other such extreme hazards spawn throughout the game creating an experience that is constantly requiring fast-thinking and full attention.
- Multiplayer would be a fun addition (not a requirement, but it will be fun to go on adventures with friends).
- More to see on drives, or maybe a slider that controls how often things are seen?
- Alternative art styles (the art style is not bad, and it achieves what style it strives to recreate, which I admire. Though, I think the game would benefit from settings that allow you to change over all styles, perhaps to more cartoony or more realistic textures. I know this is picky, and I understand it's way harder than it sounds to add, so I don't expect it to be implemented, but I just like to give ideas sorry lol).
- Maybe slightly more physics based type things, even if simple? Like throwing objects with a small pounce when they hit walls or animals.
- Optional interface changes. Your needs pop up next to your character, but I think people able to opt for other displays (like having these needs bars displayed in a corner of the screen or such being an option in menus) I think it'd be great.
- The pick up and drop system is a little frustrating, it would be nice to easily click on something to hold it or even a slight change to inventory like having hotkey-ed inventory spaces in the bottom right to make things easier.
Again, I understand I'm asking a lot, and also this is a very early state of the game, but these are things I'd be thrilled to see. I'll be keeping your game in my library and am happy to be along for the ride of future updates! :)
