Coup Ahoo Steam Charts & Stats

I originally heard about this game on https://js13kgames.com/2024/games/coup-ahoo and played both the simplified 13kb version and the directors cut, totaling over 30 hours before this was even released on steam, so yeah, I have some thoughts. First want to say to the developer Antti, you really have something here, and thanks for keeping it free of mature elements so kids can play it too. This made it fun for my whole family to sit on the couch and see who could go further on a run. :) --- Summary: Highly recommend this light, yet "mini-decision packed", rogue-like game for those who like games like Slay the Spire and Dicey Dungeons. --- My elementary and middle school aged kids have played the JS version on tablets for hours as well, and this served as a very accessible introduction to rogue-like games for them. Limited number of choices, but lots of little decisions that influence the outcome of battles kept them engaged and understanding the core mechanics. As with other rogue-like games, the fun is getting to know the meta and what to expect for power-ups and events, and using them to squeak-by and stay alive long enough to get some delightfully broken, or over-powered combos, and then decimate opponents ships, even passed the end of the game. (With the Bribe ability back on v1.0.3, my daughter first got passed level "infinity + 30" once and loved it). On v1.1.6 I was able to get to over level "infinity + 185" dealing 1150+ damage per shot, but my son used the mouses scroll wheel and when the main choice buttons in the bottom right disappeared we couldn't figure out how to play anymore and had to throw the game. Later we figured out that hitting Enter brought them back. Feedback to Antti on improvements to keep me coming back for more: - Obviously, keep fixing bugs as you find them. This is not to say the game feels buggy at this point, I mean, I put the game under heavy strain in my "infinity + 185" run and it kept functioning, which was amazing in itself! But there are some weird things that happen sometimes that probably come down to the order of the resolution. One small example, when you have a special "make another dice plated" and you click it, it sometimes re-plates one that was already plated. - Clarify what Tinkerer abilities do and don't effect plated dice. "Cargo" sometimes seems to include plated dice and sometimes does not. - Add make the end-game more worthwhile by adding some sort of unlock features, e.g., beating "infinity + 10" let's you chose a special hat at the start of a run which changes a core game mechanic, (off the top of my head) like every shot makes your dice pips go up in number, but when they would "go up" from 9 they instead pop and are destroyed. - Excellent game, keep it up!
