Bought this as a meme because i thought it was funny, turns out this game is awesome. I even went back and replayed it when it was updated with new content and achievements. If it gets more, I will once again restart to enjoy this experience again.

I enjoyed this game. The surreal visuals and concept were a fun time. The game feels goofy in a way I enjoy, especially everything around the rat, including it's voice acting. Note, it is a 'horror' game. I wouldn't call it scary, but the story does reach into that genre once you enter the house. I like the contrast between the goofy rat and voice acting next to the serious horror material.

There's something oddly cathartic about shaking a video game rat.

Play The Upturned if you want comedy horror. This game is however cheap enough that you can play through it if you want a good example of poor lighting decisions.

I am the Ratshaker... Shake it... Feel it... Taste it... Have you ever wanted to shake or squeeze a rat? Look no further, your sinful thoughts can be fulfilled! Quit running and just enjoy the firm grip you have on reality and buy this short, hilarious, horrifying game.

A walking simulator where you shake and squeesh a rat, quite amusing. 1 hour of a barely interesting story to go through while you listen to the rat occasionally say something CHEESY for the 100th time in between it having it's eyes pushed out of it. Not scary at all - might be a little disturbing to some I'd guess(?). Game looks actually polished and doesn't look like some garbage slop at all. 0 bugs encountered as well. It feels unnecessarily dragged out. Joke stops being funny and more or less annoying by the end. A bunch of "f*ck u" deaths in the game that just drag the "gameplay" even more and put you so far back it just kills ANY interest in whatever was happening. I don't understand the logic behind this as the game is not long enough to be non-refundable anyway and it just makes people more likely to refund the game. Asking for 2,99€ for this gag is alright, people pay more for dumb stuff to put on their steam profiles. I absolutely disagree with how they're just trying to milk this game for money post-purchase though - limited plushies, "supporter pack", clothes... Behaviour of a meme hit wonder tiktok infamy farmer superstar... props to anyone who finds it THAT funny. Shake all the rats my guy. Spend the energy on making another alright well executed joke/story/game instead please? You're doing okay.

Super short game but for the price its asking you shouldn't expect an epic anyway. Its a good time though telling you more would ruin all the surprises if you haven't found them already on some youtube video or something. Give it a shot if you're looking to shake a small helpless animal.

Fun little horror game I would recommend. I like the style of the game, and the action of shaking the rat.

After getting all achievements I would say the 'mechanic' of shaking and squeezing the rat in your hand to interact with everything, open doors and maintain passageways removes all elements of horror and most of the intrigue the game potentially had. The revelations at the end are not worth it. At one point you are guided around back to the living room again but this time some stuff has been thrown on the floor and now the couch is interactable, but once you interact with it the room explodes and you have to do the whole area again. I think that sums up what this game is without spoiling anything else, boring and pretentious. There is a VHS filter in the display settings which when turned off you see all it did was make everything blurry. I'm old enough to remember VHS tapes and they were never like that. When you do turn off the filter, some objects in the game are still blurry, not just the outright censored stuff but the passageways that close on their own have square grids drawn on them even though they are very curvy. You also notice the fridges just have big black boulders within them that I guess with the VHS filter they are supposed to look like something else. There are positives though, like the blood-painted image of the woman with her hands out was scary, and the television at the end showing additional frames of what the other televisions were showing was very interesting and scary, but if you're a seasoned horror gamer this game doesn't do what you've experienced done better before. Spoilers:
I think I get what shaking the rat is supposed to be a metaphor for but it's implied in the game that more than that was done by the protagonist to people. The things that the rat says and his reactions don't seem to relate to what any victim went through. If he really did shake/choke them all to death and all that other stuff was him playing with dead bodies then that should have been communicated better.
Anyway, I'll be requesting a refund.
