I bought it for the new gizmos. the company itself is not interesting.

Loved the game, so bought it to support the devs (also new content). If it wasn’t already worth it before the discount, it definitely is now.

While it seems some others are upset with there being a pay to access part of the game, I have to disagree. This DLC adds more content, a few new pieces and 12 new challenges (along with a new area to drive around), but isn't reductive at all to the base (free) experience. There's still a little jank collision here and there but I'm sure this will be reduced as time goes on (as it already has been thus far). I adore the devs' original desire to only have cosmetic DLC in a free to play game, but for niche sandbox games like these that just doesn't work. I believe that content packs like these are a great way to move forwards with the project while keeping the lights on, so while there's surely a little frustration on a slight change of course, it's completely understandable as original intentions were, frankly, unrealistic. It's hard to fault them as it isn't free to make a game or host servers. Besides, the functional blocks added with this DLC are really made with the DLC's new objectives in mind, you aren't going to be unable to make a great vehicle without this pack as it is in vast majority cosmetic. Instead of seeing this as a $8 side-world, I see it as $8 I would have gladly paid for the base game. Not everything can be completely free and having a little content with the cosmetics really helps justify the purchase beyond just helping out the devs!

The base game is one of my all time favourite FTP games, and a great game. I'm 100% on board paying for extra content (hell the base game being free is amazing). And this DLC was pretty affordable for the content. But... well, it just doesn't really work all that well. The new parts are really cool, but don't really matter that much for this DLC. The new races are nice too. But the actual meat of the DLC, the stunts, feel arbitrary, unfinished and mostly pointless and repetitive. You just smash buttons half randomly until you get enough points to pass to the next one. Hell, in some cases you get more points by not moving than actually doing anything. So amazing base game, and the small bits of content in this DLC are great, but overall I don't think it adds much to the base game. I was just happy to send the Dev some money, but getting this in return would be mostly optional. So buy this to support the dev.

An early access game with a content DLC. I love this game since i began playing it, and Ive bought the DLC because I do want to support the developers and it is a free game, but it sets a very worrying precedent. Id rather pay 20 pounds (definitely worth that) for the full game and its content in development than have an early access free game with DLC content packs, because development time has been taken away from the main game people are interested in. If the game wasnt free id be putting it down now, but the devs do seem to care. I simply dont agree with locking content behind a paywall when the main game is still being developed. Ill still buy future support skin/colour packs, but its the last *content* pack ill be buying. Warning for future players.
