Love this game so much! Used to play the Papa's flash games on flash websites as a kid and this game does not disappoint. The only downside is that it's only this game and Papa's Freezeria that is available as a Deluxe game.

Fairness in this game is a foreign concept just like the idea of a diet for Big Paulie. 10/10

This is the type of game that if you play it without a clock close by, you will spend hours playing without even noticing it. The gameplay loop is so simple yet so satisfying, and every achievement and next event is just close enough to keep you playing. I was genuinely hooked for a solid four days until I completed the whole game. If you loved any of the Papa's games in their flash form, you will love this even more. Every step feels like an accomplishment, and there is a lot of steps, so prepare to be addicted!

Anyone who genuinely hates this game has zero joy and whimsy in their lives. I give this 5 pizzas out of five.
I wonder what OSHA has to say to that one customer that brings a rat to a restaurant – it doesn’t even know how to cook!
I’m really glad they are bringing the Papa Louie games to Steam. Even though that loser doesn’t even work, he mostly just steals ingredients from some poor ranches in the south to put them on pizza and thinks that makes him a chef or something. Imagine a day when you come to work and your employer decides to go to the Bahamas, leaving you with a whole restaurant to take care of. Well, that’s pretty much the plot, welcome to the world of gastronomy. There is not a lot of story, but from time to time you’ll get a letter from the Papa himself bragging that he stole some precious old family recipe from some poor Ethiopian child and he’ll tell you to put that thing on the pizzas. I’m not going to pretend like I remember the differences between web versions and this one, so I’ll just describe what we have here. As with most Papa games, the main gameplay loop relies on several workstations. First you have the ordering station, where people come to place their orders. They can do that in person, request you at a table, or even call for a delivery. Next is the building station where you choose the crust, sauce, cheese, and other ingredients. Then you put that thing into the oven, to finish it off at the cutting station. Each order has its own requirements – not only do you need specific ingredients, but they also need to be placed correctly and in good quantities. The pizzas also need to be cooked for the correct amount of time and cut accordingly. Also, don’t make people wait too long. According to your performance each pizza is graded a score which defines your tip and stars on each customer. The main gameplay is chill and can be really addicting. In-between workdays, however, you have the option to go shopping with the money earned. You can dress up your character (which besides choosing a default one, you could just create one yourself) and furnish the restaurant with posters, wallpaper and tables. There is a lot to choose from, but there is one thing that feels like a constraint. The seasons in the game have different events like Xmas, Thanksgiving or that Luau thing. If during these events you furnish the restaurant correctly and dress accordingly, you’ll raise the Holiday Spirit and reduce the penalties for waiting from customers. Seasons have their own special ingredients and customers keeping the game somewhat fresh. It’s a cool system encouraging you to play around with different outfits and styles, but sometimes it feels like you can’t dress your character how you want because the season is wrong, and you’ll feel like you’re missing out on the bonuses. There are no non-season days besides the beginning. It’s a nitpick, though. Outside of all of that there are minigames every weekday. Some better some worse, like the shooting or golf minigames are fun, but Customer Cravings requires you to just remember every customer’s order by heart and that’s kind of a tall order unless you have a spreadsheet on the other monitor. In the end I just wanted to make pizzas and multitask, but it turned out that there is a lot of side content to keep an eye out for too. I was surprised by the minigames, clothes shop and even that food truck thing, where you can make whatever pizzas, you want. There are also special recipes of the day that you can choose, and they’ll give you bonuses to tips, xp or customer stars. The game also feels like it has this progression, when you unlock more and more ingredients and special recipes, which not only require you to not make mistakes in orders, but also how to tactically fit every ingredient on that thing so it doesn’t overlap. Additionally, there are upgrades in the shop, like alarms for specific cooking levels or cutting patterns which help you cut properly. The game has this older web game style, but it still looks cool. There is an alternative costume for every character +1 Halloween costume. Mind you, there are like 150 characters in the game, so a lot of art went into this game. Also backgrounds in cutscenes are always in the correct season, which I thought was a cool detail. Music is chill and induces nostalgia. Cozy pizza-making that was even better than I remembered. I feel like Flipline Studios are sitting on gold, not releasing these games on Steam quicker.

This game is secretly a test to determine if you have ADHD. Don't let the overall appearance and nature of this game fool you - it's intense. Like, really intense. And gets more intense as you go along. At least you don't have anyone demanding to speak with the manager when you make an order wrong. Overall, great game. Simple concept, deceptively complex in execution.
A bundle of nostalgia like any Flipline Studios game, Papa’s Pizzeria is one of the best Papa Louie games. It is quick, snappy, and satisfying, even if it does ultimately share some of the franchise’s enduring weaknesses. 4/5
On my scale, a 4/5 game is great. It goes beyond simply “good” and elevates the experience with a solid story, a particularly noteworthy process of development, and/or innovations in mechanics which are satisfying to figure out and implement I love the Papa Louie games because they are all mindless and repetitive (thus being quite “chill games”), while simultaneously providing a degree of tactile and satisfying artisanry that many games struggle to achieve. Like all the games in the Papa Louie franchise, your character in this game is pressed into service as a barely-paid serf to his lordship Louie, who tricks you into running his hole-in-the-wall restaurant serving a single food of choice while he fucks off to a 5-star cruise for the rest of his unnatural life. You, being either a braindead moron incapable of stomaching the thought of disappointing the high capitalist Louie or the victim of a very serious case of existential blackmail (what could he possibly have on you??), never consider the possibility of just… not showing up to work and leaving Louie to deal with his own store. In this particular game, you are manning one of the thousands of pizza restaurants in NYC. You take orders, assemble the pizza, bake the pizza, and then cut the pizza. Simple, but this game ramps up the orders quite quickly, to the point where you could be legitimately juggling 4 pizzas simultaneously (good luck getting to that point in Freezeria unless you mess up big time). It takes some getting used to, but there is an optimal way to top pizzas (definitely not the optimal way to do it in real life—if I got a pizza topped like how I top my pizzas here I’d be so upset). I love how you can buy upgrades that legitimately do things that make the gameplay easier. The cutting guidelines in particular are awesome, and I would’ve appreciated some sort of similar upgrade in Freezeria that would’ve made the topping easier. The pizzas cook quickly and the upgrades to speed them up actually make them cook significantly faster. The mini games are mostly the enjoyable ones too (Freezeria has some ones that just suck). Personally, I find all of these games good for like 5-10 hours of intense immersion where you learn the patterns and pacing before arriving at the inevitable conclusion that working in the service industry sucks. The repetitive nature of the tasks eventually wears on the consciousness and makes you want to stop playing (no wonder so many service industry workers want to die). Fortunately us gamers can turn off this game and let it sit and marinate in the back of your mind until the itch comes back. Pizzeria is easily a game worth $20. The fact that they’re selling it for $6 is criminal to all the other developers who have to compete. For completionists, this is a 40 to 60 hour game that is very fun. However, I would recommend not doing it all in one go, as that might make your brain turn to tapioca pudding. Buy it, play it, revisit it, and look forward to the days when the rest of the Flipline games make it to steam.

Really very nostalgic to me, and I am glad that Flipline Studios is slowly remastering their games for new people and others to enjoy. I like many of the new upgrades that they put from their past games, and put it into this. 9 year old me would've loved this and I hope for more remasters like this.
