This is the Third release from LBGames, a dev me and a friend found while googlin' around for some fun games to play, and so I'm playing all of their games to show them support, but also giving my honest feedback on them all. Nuts about Nuts is a overcooked-inspired management game that favors chaos and unpredictability over everything else. You build parts and deliver them in a time limit as accurately as possible and hope you don't bleed all over the floor in the process. The Good. Nuts about Nuts is pretty standard on it's face. A simple goofy game with some decent management elements that combine waiting and working and waiting and working in a loop over and over until you eventually run out of time. It's tight, feels pretty decent, and is a good deal of fun... for around 30-60 minutes. I think the biggest bonus of Nuts about Nuts is that it clearly has a style, and it works well in that style. While I wouldn't call it the successor to overcooked at all, I do think what LB is doing here is pretty fun. I think back to games like Smithworks that blew up on steam a long while ago as apt comparisons. The rough-around-the-edges design, but clear passion for the game. I think there are some really unique systems here too, the progression is neat and interesting, even if it has it's own issues; the customization of characters is pretty neat all things considered, and everything feeling pretty decent for an LB game, less bugs than I found in previous titles (although im sure the onslaught of patches has a lot to do with that), and its very easy to burn a short car-ride on this game. I want to give it a shot on steam deck as some point, so that update will come down the line. The Not-as-Good. I think the biggest issues with Nuts about Nuts is getting started with it. The lack of clear tutorial is a good example. My duo who I played this with seemed to get a short few text boxes at the start where I failed to, but just some prompts for buttons and the sort would do a lot of help to getting into the game, perhaps a practice tutorial level would be quite good. While I also think the upgrades out-of-level system is neat, it is a little obtuse. I like the idea of unlocking new levels in this way, but it just doesn't have much appeal as achievement-based unlocking (which this game has a little bit of, but far less than I'd like). I think the screens are too wacky for their own good too, too much shaking in the title screen and in-game camera movement. I get the goal of what this is suppose to replicate, but turn the knob down a little bit, for me it's over-the-top. I do think that Nuts about Nuts is by far the most fleshed out concept and with some content additions, could be a very, very solid game all around. The price here actually seems okay for what is being given, but I do think this could benefit from more expansion on the mechanics and so forth. Pretty good overall imo. Will definitely come back to it once in awhile.
Selfish ad
Follow my curator if you like this dumb review stuff https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45356407/

Not really sure what it's going for here, it's a little like PlateUp but bare bones and with very little guidance, considering how much PU did with iconography it just feels obtuse. Items are limited and there are some questionable UI choices (the pulsing/pounding that continues when you're trying to select menu options/settings for one. Had to refund, can't recommend.
