I wanted to really love this game, but overall, it feels like a very long intro level tutorial. Getting 2 hours in, I wondered was it ever going to get broader, would you use 2 turtles together, and no. No you never do. Its a shame as I wanted that to be the case. I wanted a simple to play, hard ot master challenge but instead its got a grind like an intro level over and over again. I'm not sure who is the target audience after that

My laptop crashed right at the end of a level and when I next started the game, it was unplayable. Could not get past the drop-in of each level. I uninstalled, reinstalled, verified files, deleted local saves, all the usual fixes. Developers never replied to my bug report. In the end I got a refund before it was too late.

Fun turn-based, strategy TMNT game. Still working on getting more powers from store, but from what I have purchased with points from game, it mixes up the strategy of each of the turtles. Fun to see all the different ways to complete these levels.

This is a fantastic "budget" strategy game. It is fast paced and has you scrolling through the level, almost like a beat-em-up, however you are making turn-based moves with some telegraphed actions from the enemy kind of like in Into The Breach. Each Turtle differs in playstyle from Mikey focus on knockbacks to Donnie focusing on traps and so on. I really enjoy the flow of the gameplay. The story is good enough. It's TMNT. The presentation is quite nice to look at on my Steam Deck OLED as well. This is a great, quick pick up and play type of game.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown is easily one of the best TMNT games and deserves a place alongside Turtles in Time and Shredders Revenge. Strange ScaffoldStrange Scaffold have made not just another beat em up, but a great homage to TMNT lore wrapped in a great game play mechanic. This game will have you shouting "Cowabunga Dude!" in no time. I highly recommend giving it a play.

A game worth trying if you like both tactics and turtles. Splinter and Shredder being dead is new for me, but the overall story beats feel like classic TMNT. It's fun to chain together different statuses and shoot for high combos. If Strange Scaffold ever does more with this series, it would be sweet to play with all 4 turtles on the same map! It's not too long but there's some replayability if you want to try different loadouts or go for high scores.

Recommended on sale for fans of TMNT and casual turn-based tactics. With a bit more budget it could be a really excellent game, but feels a bit barebones even though what is present is great. I would also recommend Wildermyth, Book of Demons, Mech Armada, Into the Breach, and XCOM. +Art style +Ninja turtles +Variety of attacks/loadouts for each turtle +Story +Turn-based tactics battles +Some enemies with unique effects +Turtles all play differently +Pacing overall +Unlock some new moves to equip -Barebones options/settings -No key rebinding, some hidden controls -No voice -Only 1 turtle at a time, no team/squad -Very small maps/cramped levels -Level pieces disappear -Lacking animations -Some unclear/unintuitive statuses -No auto-end turn -Enemies/reinforcements just appear -Low enemy variety, only 2 'bosses' -Can't choose turtle/locked to level -Autosave only -Short/content for price -Music is lacking/understated -Lacking backstory, Splinter/Shredder dead?

This is a descent but very short, tactical game with little content after the main game (Took me about 4 hours). There is not much challenge, but trying to rack up combos is fun. The story, art, and music are all well done. I just wish there was more of it. Definitely a buy when it's on sale.

Each turtle plays a little differently and each level is dynamic. You can beat the game in less than 6 hours, great OST, lots of fun. Plays like "FIghts in Tight Spaces," but faster. Totally worth it!

TMNT Tactical Takedown is a turn based strategy game akin to Fights in Tight Spaces, developed by Ground Shatter studios. The game consists of more than 15 stages wherein you play as each of the Turtles who have their own set of abilities. The goal is to clear the stage by taking out enemies until you reach the final set to clear the stage. The game's tutorial at the start gives a good idea of the overall mechanics of the game, and I've quite enjoyed my time playing it, although for folks who have played Ground Shatter's games it might come off being too easy. Still I do recommend it whether you are fan of the IP, and/or turn based strategy games. The game does indeed have a very basic visual style, and I personally didn't mind it and found it having its own charm. The game's music is also rather chill for the most part and contemplated the steady gameplay flow. Furthermore, the game can be played entirely with the mouse, although a keyboard would be best to help rotate the camrea. The overall difficulty is fine, and it is mainly difficult at the start due to learning the game's mechanics and how each turtle plays. Once you've gotten a handle on your preferred way to use them, the game gets much easier, if not more manageble. My one issue with the game is that sometimes it won't register the ability or action you've chosen so you may perform an unintended action instead. I just double clicked on the ability I needed and it was good from there. Def. one of my top 10 games of 2025, so give it a play if you can.
