it's not great and really i would recommend you get it on sale if you have to play the game.
You're a bartender, but the game never has you MIX a drink, you just pick one off a menu and then drag a line around an silhouette. sometimes you can make the drink wrong but it never needs to happen out of some specific scenarios that the game tells you to do. The mystery's aren't that hard to figure out and then you spend a few hours dragging lines to clues until they click together and it gives you the next answer.
it's not a very good story and the characters are kind of boring baring one or two and everyone looks like a girl, even the male characters. I played all the way through but beyond chapter 2 (which is called chapter one because of the prolouge) I was never shocked at any of the plot twists.
I hope it gets a sequel and the creators build it out be more of a game and less of a bad visual novel

Get this game ON SALE. It's got a lot of good elements but feels somewhat unpolished. The actual process of uncovering clues is a bit more difficult than I expected. I liked how you could get additional clues by purposefully putting customers in a bad mood rather than just having to get them drunk and happy, but game play does get extremely repetitive and dialogue is pretty limited. I had to start presenting evidence to every single customer cause I couldn't figure out what specific combo the game was looking for, and it started feeling like a bit of a slog whenever I reached the second half of a case. That said, I loved the characters and the world-building. I'll be keeping Rogueside on my game dev watchlist. I hope they revisit Best Served Cold through a sequel or spin-off in the future!

This game, to be brief, is really good. The characters are so diverse and complex that when they come to the bar, I feel invested in their stories and their struggles. The detective portion is also well done. I found myself guessing what the true outcome was as I discovered more and more evidence from the characters. It made finding the correct answer feel that much sweeter. I've been looking for a good detective game for a while after finishing some of my favorites and this one definitely filled that itch.
I do have some complaints, mainly about how the mixing portion is a lot less measuring and more following a line but honestly, it is such a drop in the bucket compared to the portions I liked.

I loved everything about Best Served Cold. Not only was the entire game as a whole a masterpiece, each case left me wanting more. With such a satisfying end that tied up all loose ends, this game has become my favorite of all time. I strongly recommend to lovers of visual novels and mystery.

pros:
- lovely art style
- music is good
- evidence collecting is a lot of fun
- i enjoy all of the characters, and despite the lack of voice acting the dialogue is good enough to make them feel really alive
- great character designs
- good mysteries
cons:
i genuinely can not think of cons. maybe its kinda hard to know what to do sometimes, but thats it really.

good detective game, surprising turns and twists, beautifully written.... meaningful character developments, covers lots of real life topics, lots of wisdom. Not a tragic story nor a fairy tale, just a story about life. Honestly haven't seen quality like this in a while, a must buy for narrative/detective game lovers.

Best Served Cold is a stunning experience from start to finish. It's brilliantly written, dripping with flavor that pulls you into the world, and beautifully depicted. It's like Coffee Talk meets Ace Attorney, and it's nearly perfect. Here's hoping the developers take us to Bukovie again someday.

I absolutely loved this game! I have been a big fan of the Nancy Drew PC games by HER Interactive and this felt very similar to those. The mysteries were compelling and the characters were well written, relatable, and emotionally complex. I didn't get all the possible clues for every chapter but did solve the cases correctly every time. It was nice to be able to solve the cases using critical thinking rather than HAVING to find every possible clue. The artwork is also phenomenal as well as the ambience! I loved the music and sound effects. To me the only downfall is that sometimes the text can move on even if you haven't clicked to move it forward. This didn't cause me trouble often but every now and then if I was rereading what a character said it was mildly inconvenient.

Brilliantly written with charming, complex characters who grow, change, and relate to one another. It's hard not to form a deep attachment to them! The visuals and music are also top-shelf, transporting you to a more glamorous world. However, the crude mechanics, typos, lack of character memory of past choices, and simple clue-bashing make the game feel a little unpolished and like it doesn't live up to its full potential. I'll definitely keep my eye on this developer to see what comes next, as long as they keep up this writing and art quality!

Decent but I expected bartender mechanics to be more satisfying... Story itself is nicely branched, and characters have quite a lot personality with mood mechanics. Lack of Voice Acting with such a heavy text deduction game is quite a downside. Neutral review most mystery fans should have fun but wait for discount.
