They've done a killer job of implementing the flail-to-the-face vibes of the TTRPG, so if you loved that, you will love this. "Rules light, heavy everything else"

honestly worth it for the artstyle alone, but the gameplay is also incredibly fun! it's nice to have the game force you to play slow and i enjoy that it- while reactive -is still really methodical. gets real pondorous with the bigger swords.
and once the problem of it crashing gets fixed, it'll be worth it all around! maybe wait for a sale, though.

If you are fan of mork borg, you cannot miss this game. If you are not a fan, but you'd like a brutal hack n slash that will challenge your skill then you should give this game a try.
The artstyle is ABSOLUTELY sick! I love the environment, the characters and the music. The gameplay is what you'd expect in a game like this, not really too hard but BRUTAL! There is no mercy and you can end up playing a 1HP character with no chance to heal yourself and struggling to advance, coherently with a cursed world that is doomed to tragically ends, the mork borg world!
Game is still in early access and occasionally can crash, but the developers seem very active and are releasing new fixes and improvements basically daily, not so common for an indie game with such a small crew.

As someone who has the TTRPG, this game is a surprisingly faithful recreation of the rules in a hack and slash format. From leveling up potentially causing you to lose stats, to the art style and vibe itself. It is a bit jank currently, there is the occasional bug, but overall I really enjoy what they have here. I look forward to seeing what they add to the game in the future.

If you enjoy the ttrpg this game is a must havr. It gets the feelings of helplessness and hopelessness perfect. Still pretty rough around the edges, but definitely worth it.

It nails the grimdark vibes of Mork Borg, and it delivers. The combat is absolutely brutal. Lots of fun so far.

I really want to like this game. I love the TTRPG and the setting and how it looks. But I can't recommend it. It's hard, but in the wrong way: It's not challenging, it's punishing. One mistake pretty much means you have to start all over again. And since there's (mostly) one main quest (with randomized elements), that means playing the first few segments of the game over and over and over and over and over and over... and it just takes. so. long. to. do. *anything* (looking at you, unskippable cut scenes). It really takes the fun out of it.
Here's hoping the balancing gets reworked in the future.

THIS GAME SHOULD NOT EXIST! BUT IT DOES!
As a fan of Mork Borg, my eyes couldn't believe this when I first saw it: A side scrolling dungeon crawling action oriented hack and slash rpg, yet completely accurate to the rules, setting, art style, and vibe of the Mork Borg pen and paper roleplaying game. When I played it (enjoy the learning curve, it flows with more player experience), I personally had a great and flawless experience. The settings and creatures are right from the pages, and the only downside was I wanted ALL of the classes immediately, although Fanged Deserter may be most suited for pure combat. The fact that the randomization of Mork Borg extends to characters of the same class, both in looks and special abilities, not to mention quirks, ands a huge amount of variation already.
Be sure to learn all of your buttons, movements, and omen/item usage or you won't last long. Don't get crowded, and use dodge and dash for defensive capabilities (Fanged Deserter shield is must use).
This is a must buy for any fan of Mork Borg, even if you are terrible at it. It nails it all, right down to the Doomsday Clock.

Trying to eat a piece of fat after a fight against two undead scumbags, my game crashes and i lose my progress.
Pretty sure this is not intended, but it feels very Mörk Borg that a piece of meat ends the world.
Aside from that, i have not ran into any issues performance wise and i am still having fun- as of yet.
The Game Lets you Cheat, do it
One the shorts on the developers' account says you can access the .json files to change dialog, weapon/spell damage values, etc. Feel like an enemy is doing too much damage? Nerf it. Feel like your weapon is not doing enough damage? Buff it. You still need a competent amount of skill and strategy to make progress and delay the Doomsday Clock. Just remember that making a weapon do 99 damage means any enemy that wields it ALSO do that much damage to you.
