I like the concept of running through some freaky underground bunker/labs but it is kinda easy to get lost in this. Need more specific level details.

It's just an hour of slagging off zombies in an underwater dungeon. Dull as dishwater. Like a second, smaller fart deployed to distract from the massive atomic blast someone let off at the dinner table.

Pros: * More Health Upgrades are being provided by playing this DLC * New Ranged Weapon can be found in the Underwater Dungeon Cons: * Monotone * Not easy to navigate and it doesnt really show you which paths are alternative or not, so its a lot of backtracking and trial and error. * New enemy type that only appears in the Dungeon * If you go into the Dungeon too early it's really hard to get through it. * Many rooms are very unbalanced Conclussion: The DLC is okay to play, it makes the melee combat easier in the main game if you have troubles with health, but getting through the Dungeon in general is pain. Sadly I cannot recommend it.

base game is nice, this was just a boring slog that added nothing of actual value. Except the time I got jumpscared by the developper's mascot, that was cool.

If it wasn't free, I'd give it a no, but since it's free with the game, and considering what you get, it's worth the download. The DLC gives a new area and sort of add-on campaign to the main game that can be accessed at any time. However, there's a catch with this and I'll tell you why. You first need the combat flashlight to access the area, but after this, it's best to collect the army knife, advanced axe, silenced pistol and shotgun before entering. They'll be needed. The DLC area itself, the underwater labs, takes about and hour to get through and it's pretty boring. The new zombie type it introduces, the Dweller, is monstrously overpowered and while they can be scary at first, they become just an annoyance and frustration by the end of it. They're hugely overpowered, able to kill you in just a few hits, take many, many hits to kill and are super fast, as well as able to spot you from kilometers away. The environment is just metal tunnel after metal tunnel, mostly in the dark, which is not fun to traverse especially with all the vents. It can be spooky and eerie, but generally it's just a slog by the end of it. The skins you get for both Cliff and the weapons are neat, giving some colour and variety to the existing weapons. The new ones introduced, the assault rifle and walloper are fun and, in the case of the assault rifle, borderline overpowered! They're fun to use and give some variety to the weapon selection as well as being actually fun to use! The new collectibles are just meh, they exist and if you're not interested in the lore, they're just a thing to do. Overall, the new area is pretty 'meh', with poor visuals, an OP new zombie type and a few new weapons which is the good thing about the DLC. The worst part is that AFTER ENTERING YOU CAN'T LEAVE UNLESS YOU FINISH THE DLC! This is a problem if you entered unknowingly, so like I said at the beginning, stock up on the supplies before entering. The extra cosmetic things are cool I guess, and the whole thing is free. If you paid for it, this would be a negative review, but overall it's a small free thing for the game.

Underwater Labs is a free DLC for Escape Dead Island, and like the name, it adds a new area, accessed through a hatch near the Geopharm Complex, which you cannot exit if you got in. It is a linear dungeon with a big fight in the end, that's it. And maybe get some backstory on GeoPharm's former CEO through his collectible logs. Besides the main hatch to access most of the DLC, there will also be 3 extra hatches, which contain some items. These hatch can be explored freely without the fear of accidentally starting the DLC. You will need to have the military flashlight before you can enter the hatches. While the dungeon might seem pointless, the good thing about this DLC is that it adds 2 new weapons you must find, a powerful but slow inaccurate hand-cannon, and a powerful assault rifle which uses shotgun ammo. There's also some new skins for Cliff's outfit and weapons. And in those tunnels, there's a frightening new enemy called The Dweller, which are very strong and very sensitive to the sounds you make. Luckily, they only appear in the underwater labs, and nowhere else. The Underwater Labs is automatically installed once you install Escape Dead Island, and you can change your skins from the start. Even if you think the linear, dark dungeon is not interesting, the assault rifle is only found there. I'd still recommend you try it out, even if it's just for the weapon. But it would be better if the "main" hatch was not too dark and has warnings to prevent you from accidentally starting it, though.
