Fantastic "Survivor" game for 4-6 Hours! The price seems pretty reasonable for a satisfying experience like this. So there seems to be no reason not to get it if you like dopamine.

Very fun and satisfying incremental game, however there's a few things that don't quite feel right:
- The music doesn't match the game at all, the OST is relaxing lofi-esque loops that just feel too calm for the amount of things going on in the game. I feel the game should either have an upbeat soundtrack, or the option to switch between a relaxing OST and an upbeat one.
- The crafting mechanic, whilst it is a new thing to do in the game, starts off quite tediously, as you need to make multiple trips in the previous levels to catch up. Whilst I don't feel that it's bad, as it encourages replayability in the earlier stages, I feel that automation should be introduced earlier to make it feel less like a chore to progress.
Other than that, this is a very fresh take on the recent boom of incremental games and I would definitely recommend playing this if you are a fan of the genre!

Fun, short, incremental upgrader game.
The 'automation' section of the game provides a quantity resources which feel a little under-performing compared to those gained during each train run by the time you unlock the automation portion. It's not like an unusable portion of the game, but I didn't personally find it gave much merit to the rest of the gameplay. Perhaps it saved one or two runs in earlier levels, hard to say.
Speaking of "hard to say", one thing this game does not show or tell you in (any way that I was able to find) are any "current" statistics or values. For instance, the upgrades are basically all in the form of "+X" but you never get to see a "current" amount or rate that you current have, so it's not very clear to be able to make a distinction on the exact relative "worth" of one upgrade over another. However, the upgrades are quite quick in succession overall so maybe knowing that depth of information is just redundant in the scope of the game. Though I would like to know things like current damage for each train car type, and resource health points and such to help guide better upgrade purchases at the end of the game... I basically had to guess and stack all my "unlimited" upgrades on just a few car types as that felt like the best strategy based on how the game works by that point.
Got it during the summer sale and I still want to keep watching the train destroy everything even after grabbing all the achievements, so that's saying something.

Trainatic offers a fun, simple burst of incremental progression that is great for a few hours of casual play. It kicks off with satisfying hands-on mechanics, but as you unlock massive automated weapon upgrades, it ultimately transitions into a passive idler by the end game. While it's a perfectly okay title to pass an afternoon, its short lifespan and heavy late-game automation mean it’s best recommended at a discounted price.

I had fun for a few hours. The game is rather short, and towards the end of it, it's pretty much just afk resource farming, but the early and mid-game were a blast.

It's a nice and loveley incremental game without much deepness but very fun to play and progress.
Don't expect a lot of gameplay. For Main Campaign you finish in around 5 Hours and for all achivements you need about 10-12 Hours. For its price its okay but I wish for more content since this game has a lot potential.
More levels, Resources, Crafting and some deeper Metaprogress instead of just clicking a skill tree.

Thoroughly enjoyed this game, from start to finish, about 10 hours. I like that the incremental transitions into an idler, the power balance is nice, breakthroughs feel meaningful. To the Developer, Ryan Forrester, Good Job

Alright look. I have the autism, so a train game is going to get my thumbs up.
But for the sake of the review, let's talk about why this game is absolutely excellent and worth the small cost it asks for.
The incremental nature satisfies the dopamine numbers-go-brr part of the brain, but it's also incredibly well balanced. It starts off just like the train does, slow, laboured, chugging away, working on getting small upgrades run by run, and as you start to upgrade and get your train more powerful and more upgraded, you start chugging along through the levels, focused on your stockpile of materials and resources.
It is incredibly well balanced, and the upgrade tree is EXPANSIVE, I've seen trees as big with 100x less intelligent design (Path of Exile 2 I'm looking at you). You absolutely are planning your next upgrades, and the grind of the train along the tracks is second nature to the planning of upgrades, resource management, and balancing act of firepower and economical efficiency.
Chasing down orbs is rewarding, and so are the incrementally staggered upgrades. Once you hit the lightning mode, you can really start planning your grind better.
OH, and of course, the firepower itself! Well, it's great! Again, incredibly well balanced, and it scratches the itch.
Whilst the initial thought on this game from me was "OOH TRAIN GAME GO GO GADGET AUTISM", I was so absolutely pleased to find it's an INCREDIBLY well balanced incremental that leads into automation and resource management, in a cute train themed game that honestly could've charged at least 5x more than I paid for it ($6.21 AUD on special by the way, what a BARGAIN).
The achievements are great, not locked behind a ridiculous time wall or anything else, and feel natural to acquire, and what's more, are rewarding.
This is a really, really good game.
Get it. For the autism, and for the general satisfaction of it. It's an absolute delight.
Choo choo!
