Lords of Xulima - Special Digital Rewards DLC

An excellent turn base game with excellent opportunities to develope each character.

The Bestiary & Mythology book is nice. The Mythology section describes some additional lore, if you care about that kind of thing, and the Bestiary is good for seeing all the stats on an enemy before you've killed it a few dozen times and revealed it in-game. The Secrets book is...well, pretty mediocre. Of the 202 pages inside, only about 20 are of any real use. The first few pages just list off all the loading screen tips. Pages 31-42 are just a listing of the classes, which could only really be used to see the skill learn lists. Then the next [i]hundred and thirty-two[/i] pages are a listing of all the skills, with every skill taking an entire page, often without needing to. It lists out the effects of several levels of every skill just to take up space, and sometimes it even fails to do that. For example, they could have easily fit pages 71 and 72 into a single page. Most skills have numbers defined by a simple formula, too; for example, instead of listing each of the five levels of Elemental Protection, it could have just said "Duration: 50+10Lv seconds, PP cost: 30+10Lv, Fire/Cold/Electric Resistance: +5+5Lv". The last several pages aren't much more useful either; they simply list off the stats for every tier of every weapon; information found in-game as it's needed. Pages 7-30 is where the real info is; it's the walkthrough. However, it's extremely bare-bones. Most game guides devote hundreds of pages to their walkthrough; this one gave it 24. Yes, it's functional, but only barely. The soundtrack is nice, but I feel like some tracks are missing. Besides, LoX is the kind of game with music that's really only good while you're playing the game; listening to them on their own is just meh. The wallpapers are pretty. I don't personally use them, but they're well-drawn and would suit a desktop just fine. The map is just a map, really. It's the same map viewable in-game, just in an image file. You could probably find it with a google search if that's all you want. THE VERDICT: I'm not sure the package is worth $7. The description seems like it's listing off a lot of things, but it's only after purchasing that I realize it's mostly just filling up bullet points. Still, there's enough content for at least a functional game guide, and those usually sell for at least $15 in the physical world, so...your mileage may vary. I cannot personally recommend it, however.
