I grew up loving Star Wars but if I didn't get this 90% off in a collection I would have returned it.
It's a gross regurgitation of overused Star Wars tropes without the nostalgia to rope you in.
The campaign levels are not fun, the characters are boring, This made both Destiny and Star Wars worse.

might actually be the most embarrassing moment in destiny history, i cant believe that im gonna have to see some dumbass redditor titan in darth vader cosplay use nothing but a lightsaber in every activity until the servers go down
+ the story sucked and the dungeon was lame and the campaign was a slog but lawless frontier was actually an ok activity i guess

It... actually wasn't that bad. The theming is fun and relatively harmless (you get a lot of "Oh, I remember that!" moments) and the weapons are fun. Missions/the new mode is a lot of fun, too.
And, maybe this is a hot take, but Dredgen Bael is genuinely one of the most compelling villains to have ever been put in Destiny, especially when you read into his lore a bit more. It's a shame that this expansion and last brought in two of the series' heavy hitters in Lodi/Bael, only for the game to end. If we ever get a Destiny 3 or a continuation to 2, I really hope the higher ups don't miscredit D2 and EoF/Renegades' failings to its story, because those were NOT the issues.

the WORST DLC ive ever played in my whole life bro, i thought, in no way could the fire giant in Elden RIng be beaten for worst boss ever but somehow bungie has done it. The boss design in this game is so lazy youd be baffled to find out that adults worked on this pos. AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON FIRE AND ICE. Its cute they did a star wars themed dlc, but this garbage is so bad and so frustrating that it would not even be worth it if it was free. LET ALONE $20!!!!!!! Glad this company is soaring to the grave. This dlc will make you not want to play the game ever again. TRASH!!!!!!!

This actually made me physically ill. It's like they took everything they ever did wrong, put it into one expansion, and wrapped it in Star Wars (WHY?). Horrific garbage.

Got as part of the complete collection in the massive final update 90% off sale.
I could talk about campy writing or the weird knockoff Star Wars themes they went with for the crossover, but by far the biggest issue is that this expansion was meant to build hype toward a showdown with the Nine which will never come. Knowing this makes it so, so hard to care about Drifter or anyone else talking about the prophecy and their visions of a future we will never see. So the plot really just becomes stopping a random doomsday weapon which, shockingly, we do manage to blow up before it can fire, because otherwise every major character would be dead. Not that interesting.
The post-story content has a big design issue where you can't actually use the unique air strikes because you really want to reserve one slot for a vehicle and the other slot for the loot scanner, which is entirely on the devs for not letting you use your normal skimmer or Ghost radar in the mode. It also has a gimmick where you have double, or maybe more, health, in exchange for no natural regen, but this just makes it ridiculously easy if you build properly. The idea of having a sort of open world mission with several tiers of objectives like Helldivers probably could have worked really well if the developers for this game ever got time to iterate on concepts instead of needing to lock down for the next expansion in 4 months.
As for gear, it's hard to get good rolls on the blasters because each mission is really long and gives one or two drops at best, especially after the final update added very strong weapons in huge numbers to a lot of activity pools. Armor is in a similar boat, both in terms of being hard to get drops (good luck getting your ideal stat roll when you get like 3 drops from the entire DLC equipment pool every hour) and not having that great of a set bonus.
The lightsaber is cool but the exotic mission for it is just a headache, especially if you want the catalysts to make it significantly stronger. I haven't messed with much high end content yet but I can't imagine the thing is actually worth using in most of those environments over an exotic gun, just from the inherent risks of hitting something with a laser sword. So many of the bosses in this game have AoE stomps if you get too close. Also has limited synergy with most subclasses because, while it does have a mod to inflict status based on subclass, it always hits for kinetic damage, which artifact perks and fragments don't always like.
For the price I paid for it, just one part of the complete collection on sale for $25, I would say it's still a decent value just for having a lightsaber and experiencing a not-terrible Star Wars story with a Destiny coat of paint. For the full price of $40 just for Renegades, which as of writing seems to still be the base price for the DLC as soon as this sale ends, no way.

Doing a crossover with star wars to try and revitalize the game is like digging a necrosified atrophied lump of muscle that was once a heart out of a long dead corpse and attempting to use it to perform a heart transplant to save a man dying of a heart attack who would've died anyways because he's actually dying from a ruptured artery in the brain

Honestly was a pretty fun DLC, i like the new content and weapon(s) (we love the larpsaber) and the dungeon is fun. Unfortunately they decided to make it so the missions you need to increase ur standing with the gangs (you need to do this to get certain upgrades for gear) allows people to invade you and force you into pvp. If D3 does get announced, I hope they never do this again cuz it is actually the most unfun thing I've experienced in destiny possibly ever.

I wish I didn't spend the money on this, but I wanted to play with my friends again. Such is Bungie DLC.
You basically pay $40 for the lightsaber. It's meh, and it's an exotic. But it's novelty so whatever.
I would say I had 2 hours total of actual gameplay from this campaign- The rest was "speak to ___" - "listen to ___" with the same insufferable back and forth nonsense that most D2 players hate.
All without being able to use your sparrow, or fast travel to an area closer to your objective. Just seconds of engagement that are being farmed from your life force.
So basically you go click E, then esc on Forgettable Character #1, then go to Forgettable Character #2 and do the same, except this time you can't skip the dialogue.
Then you go find Arbitrary Item #1-#2-#3 and #4. Then voila, you can actually play a quest that takes 25 minutes and has a mind numbing cringe cinematic with Great Value Kylo Ren at the end.
Rinse, repeat.
Pros:
Green lightsaber looks cool.
Cons:
Mixed review Destiny 2 DLC.
