Greate game, real funny game play and good graphics. But need improvements and better optimization. Also, theres some "light" bugs, but its ok tho. I hope to see this game upgrading, it has potential! 3/5

Not a lot of games can produce a truly heart-rushing scare once you've played Alien : Isolation - but Congo is gnarly good at it ! Congo is primarily a top-down action title where the camera slightly pitches up to show a dark and uninviting expanse as you thread carefully in half-steps, and to great effect. The tension is immediate, the danger, even when yet manifested, instantly palpable. You barely see as far as where your modest torch - probably your best friend early in the game - will generously shed light on. Not of a lot of games offer a distinct advantage in wielding a gun over a 2-handed-firearm, as you can still hold the handmade 360-degrees beacon to spot foes (relatively) early on. And let me add that you start with just a big knife. The enemy is intelligent, powerful, stealthy. Most of the time 1st contact starts with the sound of the enemy carefully brushing the vegetation, and still you have to rely on you best aurality to pinpoint exactly where the threat is approaching from. It knows how and when to attack, when to retreat for a renewed or flanked offensive, and it uses the element of surprise and teamwork to stalk and hit the invader - you, who is in the end of the day only trying to haul out of this sinister place of a jungle by night. Congo is a game about pure survival from a place where every second takes a toll on your nerves, and a place where rushing blindly and pseudo-merrily will put your stride to an abrupt and violent end. A game still in development despite its "as is" robustness, but already showing great promise and a rather terrifying presence not often approached or executed as deftly. The YES-Factor : sale or no sale, definitely worth going for. NO Gamesman Land : can be bad for cardiovasculars (seriously) .

3/10 Runs terribly even on modern High end hardware especially if any weather effects happen. Do not buy it when not on sale and I only suggest it to be played with friends to have a few laughs

Pros: Innovative idea Focuses on use of resources to get through the campaign. Cons: Top-down view eliminates atmosphere Targetting is too finicky to work Vectors cause inescapable holes Ammo is different for different guns, including two different ammos for shotguns but no distinguishing features between ammo leaving a player to question wHY they have 30 shotgun ammo but their shotgun won't load Only three seetings for graphics: High, Medium, and Low. Low looks like crap and Medum and high make the AUDIO lag out. Which is weird. Why is the audio synced directly with the frame rate? Overall: I regret paying more than $5 for this game.

This game changed very little from early access to full release. Don't buy it. Once you realize every strike and kill is the same and so is every enemy (Two enemies. Such variety!) there is little else to do but complete the objectives that, without satisfying gameplay, are left feeling pretty tedious. Inventory and item system is really bad. Loot crates will "pop" open and throw your stuff into unreachable areas. Travelling across the maps is very convoluted, and represents the greatest part of the games difficulty. There is virtually no story. The scary atmosphere will wear off very quickly as well. Sound seems to be centered on crackling bushes. Demons (sloths) are everywhere, so there is endless crackling from their trips in and out of the bushes. My old review stated that this game could be good in time. Time has passed, it didn't work out for this game. Don't buy this. Even if you have 3 friends to play with. Demons still look like sloths. edit : My play time is low. That's how long it takes to get through the content on this game.

Played on Linux using GE-Proton 7.10, Got on sale for 0.89p, Played the first objective level on local multiplayer on easy settings all on my own and did it, the last bit of the level waiting for the Helicopter was the most intense 15-00 minutes i've had in a long while. Graphics are okay and do the job, sound is pretty good, Gameplay is okay, had to get used to the controls but did not take long, As i said i only played alone so i have no idea if online co-op works as no one seems to be playing the game when i did a quick test. It's an okay Game even playing alone (Single Player), On sale it's worth a try if your not sure about the Game, I liked what i have played so far, and will play some more, as i want to see how far i can level up my player, and see how level up perks works (reload speed, running speed, etc).

THIS REVIEW IS EXTREMELY OLD PLEASE DONT TAKE IT AS AN ACCURATE ASSESSMENT OF THE GAME I only played about half hour so far but after a crash, performance issues, and that short time with the game these are my first impressions. If ANYTHING changes, my review will change. EVERYTHING in my review will be consistent with my time played. Pros: - Play in the setting of my favorite movie when I was a kid: Congo. - Has a horror feel to it with it's dark lighting and fog hiding the primates as they stalk you. - AI is mostly good, hit and run guerilla (hehe) tactics when the primates numbers are thin and the fog is thick, and overwhelming group charges when they are in large numbers. Cons: - Overall the game is very clunky. - The characters controls poorly, and the controls themselves feel unresponsive at times. - Gun's aim system is clunky and leaves much to be desired. - Drop a fuel tank and watch it fly like a bird you just set free. - Melee combat is clunky and the melee strikes don't always work how they should, and sometimes don't make sense (strike with ape in face and nothing happens, strike with ape 2 meters away and it dies) - Players are greedy and don't communicate (play with no pistol takes all the pistol ammo and wont share, if you're knocked down and dropped your weapon your "friends" in your group will steal the weapon until they run out of ammo) - By far the worst part of the game is the performance. I play on a high end gaming PC and enjoy smooth plays of games like GTA V, The Division, Total War, Elite: Dangerous, Squad, Dying Light, Just Cause 3, and other graphics intensive games. This game gets the worst framerates of any game I have ever played since I built this PC in Sept 2015. First impressions are everything, and my first impressions are that this is an unfinished and unrefined early access money grab. Will my opinion change after spending more time ingame? I doubt it. It's not something that I just nit picked, I really wanted to like this game an dhave been waiting for the full release for a while now to finally play it. For the sake of all the hopes i had for it Im going to FORCE myself to play it further. I'll update my review if anything changes.

So Anakin Skyhumper, Borgie, and myself finally beat the multiplayer mission. The 15 minutes of waiting for the chopper at the end was one of the most intense moments in a game there ever was. I was Literally tensed so much my muscals hurt in my hands and arms. I never blinked, eyes hurt so much. SO MANY DEMONS!!! we had burned over 200 bullets on the helipad, and still had to pull out the Machete to finish. That Moment when the Helicopter lands and you Press that "E" button for rescue...holy shit moment..you sit back in your chair and realize that you did it... 10/10 is my review and I want to say Thank you SO Much for the experience.

Uh no. Dont. The frame rates cant hold for whatever reason, the AI is terrible, which I initially forgave thinking it was still early acess. The concept is neat, it's like a 3rd person Left 4 Dead mixed with Baulder's Gate but in this form not playable.
