This. game. holds. up. My god... Pristine recreation to a game that, were it made new today, would still be very fun and wort the price of admission.

This game is a really fun game and is very addicting. It keeps you coming back with either league mode or just fun play,
best 9.99 game out there (FYI this game is better than other backyard installments so if you wanna give the franchise a try go for this one).

Exactly how I remember this game, although I'm much better at it now that I'm not an eight year old begging to play this on Daddy's computer.

Pros: Casual fun, great characters and presentation, surprisingly deep mechanics and strategy (not super deep, though), easy to play well
Cons: Plays slow, resolution can get weird, repetitive announcers and taunting are annoying (can shut off)
Overall: Pros far outweigh minor cons and it's a low-key, casual fun game good for all ages and skill level - highly recommended
Steamdeck: Says it's SD verified, but it's hard to play. There are no controller options and using the track pad to play is fidgety and frustrating. If you play on SD, the resolution goes to 640x480 when playing on desktop for some reason (bug?). Only fix I could find was uninstalling it on both SD and desktop and deleting cloud saves. Recommend playing either only on SD or only on desktop, not both.

One of the greatest games if my childhood. Takes me back every single time I play it. Truly a gem, so glad it's on steam.

So nostalgic, though don't know how I played the game so much with the pace of play being so slow. Still 10/10 memories

This is a very fun game from 97' you can create a bunch of different games starting all from scratch. You can pick out all of your own players too. i also love the extra talk(it's just funny).

Very dated and rough around the edges, but, packed full of charm! The game-play is just clicking with the mouse, which gives the impression that it could have been a flash game once upon a time. But the presentation is where it's at! I loved sorting through the lineup of kids with all their quirky personalities and seeing them play out on the field. All of which lead to more fun than I thought I would have.
I mean, for $14.50AUD, you really can't complain. It would be great to see a modern game with modern mechanics with this sort of vibe. In saying that, I'm really looking forward to seeing how all the rest of the games in the series stack up!

This game is obviously old but it has aged better than most games from the 90s. All the kids that you can draft for your team feel very hand-made and thought out in terms of animations, personality & reaction to different situations. Only complaint is the menus can be a little confusing to navigate at first.
