Backyard Baseball, Pablo or Nothing. Backyard Soccer, Keisha and Ricky Chocolate Dream Team. Pablo kinda stinky from anywhere beyond the penalty box, and gets winded fast.

Not worth $10. I played for about 30 minutes and that was enough for me to decide I don’t like it. The controls and mechanics are weird and take some getting used to. Feels like something I would’ve played on a school laptop just to kill time. I already knew it wasn’t gonna be great based on the screenshots and videos, but I still gave it a shot—and it let me down. I’d maybe get it again if it was on sale for $2 or $3 max.

Kinda forgot I had bought this game because I've mainly been playing Backyard Baseball but I fired it up again today and it's a lot of fun. Glad I made the purchase.

Super nostalgic! The only thing I don't like is that in a regular exhibition match, not all players are available for selection. I understand the logic behind it, I just don't like it.

I wrote a review like this for Backyard Baseball, so I'll write another here. MY RECOMMENDED TEAM FOR BEGINNERS: 1: Pablo Sanchez: He is carried by his speed in this game. Pass him the ball and just watch him fly by the defenders. His powerful kick can reward you some goals, but I have noticed he's not very accurate. His speed can get you some steals on defence, which he can probably produce into a goal. 2: Ricky Johnson: Best player in the game. Great speed and control, and a very powerful kick. And he's humble about it too. Not too great at defence, but better than a 1/4. The disrespect from the creators is crazy. Truly a role model for young soccer players. 3: Vicki Kawaguchi: just look at her stats. She is elite, probably the second best player in the game. She is a great dribbler, kicker, defender, I mean the list goes on. AND shes a good goalie. I've also noticed that she seems to get tired much slower than other kids. 4: Dante Robinson: A fast kid with good handles and elite defence, what more could you need? But... he isn't the best at kicking. But if you just dribble in real close to the goal and kick, then you're good. however, I'm not sure if I just push him to his limits too much, but he seems to get tired very fast. Just swap him out and you'll be fine. 5: Keisha Phillips: I've always used her as a goalie, which I'm not sure is the right thing to do, because people are always talking about how good she is on offence. Whenever someone gets tired out on the field, just swap 'em out with Kiesha and she'll do pretty good. I wouldn't personally start her out in the field, but I guess I'm weird. 6: Tony Delvecchio: I'm not sure if Tony's a popular choice in the soccer game, but I've always used him as my defender, where he gets easy slide tackles and steals. His powerful kick lets him pass it all the way back up to mid-field, where you can get an easy goal. And If you're GOOD (Like me), you will probably spend most of the game on your opponents side of the field, so Tony pretty much never gets tired. So, yea, Tony's good in this game I guess. SUBS: 1: Reese Worthington: Good speed with heavenly handles. He also has a powerful, accurate kick. He's not very good at defence, so stick him in the forward position. You might be wondering: If Reese is SO good, why isn't he a starter? Well, he does get exhausted very fast, So if you start him, after a minute of playing you'd sub him out. I prefer my starters to last some time, and then I sub them out when I need to, so I can get more play time from my best players. 2: Annie Fraisure: Power. That's it, she has a cannon of a kick. Well, that's not really IT, but it's what makes her good to me. She also has decent speed and handles, but she gets tired faster than other kids. Just like Reese, that's why she's not a starter. Honourable Mentions: Pete Wheeler: All the tierlists I've seen of the kids in soccer have Pete very low down, which I have never understood. Sure, his control is abysmal, but he can run real good, and has a powerful (But not that accurate) kick. He's also a good defender, because you can't just run past Pete Wheeler, No, no, no, he's the fastest kid in the game. His speed makes up for his bad control, and if you get close enough to the net, accuracy doesn't matter. Achmed Khan: Just an all-round good player. Powerful kick, good speed, defence, and decent handles all pile up to make a good choice for a teammate Notes: I have not played this game nearly as much as Baseball, so my opinions might be worse. I haven't had much experience with some kids. And I don't play or watch soccer in real life, so the terms I used might've sucked. (I don't know what it's called when you get the ball from an opponent, and I play basketball so I just called it a steal.)

really good game. characters have tons of personality. matches dont take hours *cough cough* backyard baseball *cough cough* earl gray and sunny day take much less time pre, mid and post game, the teams are very customizable, and the field is just fun. just one complaint. the control and sound settings dont save. so you have to manually switch to your preffered settings. (ex. i prefer without the mouse beep and using both mouse button)

Some old guys do crossword puzzles, some fish, some just enjoy a good sit on the porch with a icy glass of lemonade...this old man enjoys playing a 30 year old campy soccer video game that literally has 1 button controls. It's the simple things really.
