Playtime:
267 minutes
I love the aesthetic and gameplay. The sci-fi + food ingredient spin on an item matching game feels fresh, unique, and fun. I've been playing for 4 hours and was about to leave a positive review, but then I took a look at the achievements....
Based on the descriptions and % completed, the most difficult achievements are:
(a) 10,000 Regular burgers
(b) 5,000 Super burgers
(c) Complete 1,000 missions
(d) Pet the dog 100,000 times
I estimated the time it would take to get these achievements from my experience so far:
(a) and (b): On average, I’m completing a Regular Burger every 1.5 minutes and a Super Burger every 2.5 minutes. The math works out to 250 hours for 10,000 Regular Burgers and 210 hours for 5,000 Super Burgers. I don't think they stack either (like a super burger doesn't count towards the regular burger goal), so they're independent time commitments. That’s just an insanely unrealistic amount of time to commit to this game.
(c) 1 mission takes 1 to 3 minutes, so an average of 1.5 minutes per mission is 25 hours to complete 1,000. That’s still quite grindy for a game as simple as this, especially considering there’s no campaign (the plot is just “travel home by matching ingredients”).
(d) Pet the dog 100,000 times is obviously meant to be done with an auto-clicker. However, this isn’t a clicker game and petting the dog has no in-game benefit, so I don't know why the dev is making players download an auto-clicker and set it to run for an hour.
As a person that likes to complete games, achievements that are so extremely arduous for no good reason feel like a punishment for players rather than an achievable goal.
Lastly, my only real critique of the gameplay is that you can't rotate the pieces; you can only switch the ingredients' position. For example, if you have a vertical piece that is a tomato stacked on a bacon strip, you can't turn it horizontal, you can only flip the bacon strip to the top and the tomato to the bottom. This makes it significantly more difficult to actually craft burgers because the odds of getting the same vertical combo in a short enough time span to use it towards a burger is almost 0.
