So much fun. This game hits the sweet spot for light/casual strategy enjoyers like me. Excellent soundscape and goofy gnome theme. I wish it had controller support!

Lots of choice, great replay value, challenging without being annoying (looking at you souls-likes), and a low price to boot. ...and they said it couldn't be done (looking at you AAA).

The game is great, the controls, visuals, gameplay, setup, dragging things around, sound effects. The foundations are there and they feel good to learn and explore. However, two major issues stop me from recommending this game at this price. First, it seems far more like yet another economy growth manager and a position-based game than a tower defense. Second, there is a severe lack of depth to differentiate runs, in the item choices, crop choices, gnome choices, and enemy waves. I'll surely come back to it and delve deeper hoping for a more complex experience.

great tower defense. having made it to the mid 30's in endless mode, i do wish there was a bit more variance in the end game. maybe legendary trinkets?

Fairly small tower defense game that still offers a variety of builds. Excited to see updates!

Ok I wasn't sure whats the appeal even after playing demo. But the price is right, I like both genres this game represents (tower defense genre and rouglikes). Beside unlocking new guilds and areas doesn't have any sort of metaprogression so it really feels a bit more "pure" than most other games of this genre. And oh boy is it noticeable. I tried to beat one area dozen or so times. I told myself "no freaking way to beat it, I barely survive after first few waves and get crushed at ~10 out of 17". But this one time I got some "broken" combos going that I managed to beat it no problem. And that was moment of pure joy and satisfaction. Don't remember when was the last time I felt that way when playing something.

A bite-sized, unique, fun tower defense game. I do find myself increasingly fatigued with "X genre but its a roguelite now", however it works out incredibly well for Gnomes, as the random seeding of maps and items you get doesn't feel negative towards the overall experience and instead makes "mazing" more interesting per run. I really like how the map gradually grows and expands every day, leading you to have to solve new problems as they come up rather than plan out your entire game on day 1 and watch the dominoes fall into place. I initially thought this game might risk being too easy/simple as I cleared through the first few levels with almost no difficulty, but i've been stuck on that stupid tundra level for hours now so i'm happy the game ramps up its difficulty considerably. If you want to try a unique spin on the Tower Defense genre, with a focus on moving units and making huge mazing paths like you're playing a warcraft 3 custom map from 2007, I highly recommend Gnomes- its been an absolute joy to play so far.

Enjoyable whether you want to play casually or min/max. Even after feeling like I "solved" the game, I've still enjoyed several more hours of gameplay. Only real complaint would be quality of life based, but they're working on it for the next update anyway. Solid game.

This game is tremendous fun. The theme, art style and music are flawlessly executed and it's a pleasure to simply look at and experience. They resonated with me deeply. The main menu logo with the gnome holding a knife in particular is $$$. The game itself is a fresh take on tower defense, with the enemy paths being somewhat dynamic based on the placement of the gnomes. The economy management aspect with crops only adds to the overall enjoyment. If you have any interest in tower defense and enjoy beautiful visual/audio art, give this game a chance.
