My favorite city builder, no need for endless DLCs. Runs better than Cities XL Platinum, so just get this one instead.

I really wish Steam would allow us to give games a mixed review, rather than strictly positive or negative, but this is the best I can do.
This game is... alright. Not the best city builder I've played, but not THE worst. Really wish Focus had added more needed changes, rather than more content that nobody asked for. Some of the stuff added in this edition is fine, but I feel like the devs focused too much on those, rather than more substantial stuff like optimizing the game, adding more maps (while also getting rid of duplicates), procedurally generated planets (instead of the exact same planet they've used since the first game back in 2009), procedurally generated maps (just so we don't have to play on the same maps over and over again), more road styles (or getting rid of road styles altogether), weather, and plenty more.
Personally, SimCity 4 or especially Cities: Skylines (no relation) are far more worthwhile than this game ever will be, and it's quite disappointing that Focus has not done anything with the franchise in the 10 years since this game's release. It has it's potential, but the Devs decided to throw all that away, rather than actually improving with the next game and possibly be a competitor in the city-building scene. It's quite sad, really.
I don't recommend the game, plain and simple. Focus screwed up big time with this one. Who knows if we'll ever get a new installment in this franchise.
