It's not Rebellion's finest game, but it is underrated.

Some of the best moments with my best friend, was in this game. It's a really good coop game for when you just want to relax, shoot and some times, solve some puzzles.

It's a fun puzzle FPS with an entertaining single player campaign and online four player co-op. I love the Egyptian setting and the style of the presentation. It isn't worth the AAA price tag, but if you see it on a good sale, it is totally worth playing.

Pretty okay game, bought deluxe edition on sale for like 7-8$, and I personally wouldn't pay more than 15 for it. Did some maps several times, played horde only 1-2 times and got all achievements in 24.5 hours. Don't think I'd do that alone though, definitely more fun playing with friends. Only downside with co-op for me, is this weird audio bug me and one of my friends are getting. Me and my friends melee sounds are only played in the left ear, same with their shooting. Also some of the bosses like the last bosses are only played in the left ear too. Very annoying, and didn't find a fix for it. My other friend doesn't get the issue for some reason. The DLC almost isn't worth playing unless you already have it and want the 100% achievements. There are no new enemies, and the third DLC is the same setting as the base game.

Gameplay is basically a mix of horde and puzzle solving. Main complaint is that the actual gunplay doesn't feel satisfying on the highest difficulty unless you find enough/the correct gems (which are randomly unlocked via chests - though only sometimes) to properly upgrade weapons. Only recommended if it's on sale and if playing with friends.
A Fun & Unique Co-op Adventure with Supernatural Twist
Strange Brigade offers an exciting blend of co-op gameplay and supernatural action, set in a thrilling 1930s adventure. Team up with friends or AI to face hordes of undead, solve puzzles, and uncover ancient secrets. While it shines in its cooperative experience, the game can feel repetitive and lacks depth in certain areas. Perfect for quick, action-packed sessions with friends.
Positive Sides

1. Unique Setting and Story:
Set in 1930s Egypt inspired by pulp fiction, the game's unique setting with ancient tombs, supernatural creatures, and treasure hunting makes it definitely a refreshing departure from typical shooter games.
2. Cooperative Gameplay:
The game truly shines in co-op mode. Whether you're playing with friends or AI companions, the co-op experience is fun and engaging. Teamwork is key as you work together to overcome hordes of enemies, solve puzzles, and discover hidden secrets.
3. Very Well-Designed Environments:
The levels are thoughtfully crafted, with plenty of hidden areas and collectibles. The environments are filled with detailed architecture and atmospheric lighting, which adds to the immersive experience of exploring ancient ruins and battling supernatural forces.
4. Wide Variety of Weapons and Abilities:
Strange Brigade offers a wide range of weapons and unique abilities that keep combat fresh. From pistols and rifles to explosive traps, there’s something for every playstyle. The combination of shooting and puzzle-solving elements adds depth to the gameplay.
5. Challenging but Fun Enemies:
The game features a diverse array of enemies, including supernatural creatures and undead, which keeps combat exciting and unpredictable. Each enemy type requires different strategies to defeat, ensuring that combat remains engaging throughout.
Negative Sides

1. Repetitive Gameplay:
While the game is fun at first, the gameplay can become repetitive after a few levels. The main structure of shooting enemies, solving puzzles, and collecting treasures doesn’t change much throughout the game, which can lead to a feeling of monotony.
2. AI Companion Issues:
Although playing with AI companions can be fun, they sometimes lack the intelligence to effectively support you during combat. They may get stuck or fail to react in critical moments, making solo play with AI less enjoyable.
3. Limited Weapon Variety:
While there are a variety of weapons, they don't feel as varied in terms of gameplay impact. The combat doesn't evolve as much as expected, and some weapons can feel underwhelming when compared to the more exciting traps and abilities available.
4. Story Feels Shallow:
The narrative, while interesting in its premise, feels underdeveloped. The dialogue and plot points are not as deep or engaging as some players might hope for, making it harder to stay invested in the story throughout the game.
5. Graphical Issues and Performance:
The visuals, though appealing, can sometimes suffer from technical issues like inconsistent frame rates or texture pop-ins. These minor graphical hiccups may disrupt the immersive experience, especially in more intense combat sequences.
6. Price vs Competition :
I don't know why, but the game's price has increased significantly recently, despite its age. Considering its current full price, I have to give it a negative score on this end. I think it would be more appropriate to buy it during sales.
Conclusion:
Strange Brigade is an enjoyable co-op shooter with a unique setting, engaging combat, and fun puzzles. It offers an exciting adventure for fans of action games but can become repetitive over time. The AI companions and shallow story hold it back from reaching its full potential, but the cooperative experience and variety of weapons still make it a solid choice for multiplayer action.
Final Rating: 8/10
