I wanted to make a full well put together review here, but after some consideration, I won't and I'll say this much. Very pretty looking Pay2Gain, I'm not gonna bother going further into this game, it already looks like sooner or later I'll likely have to pull my wallet out to get what I want. There is a reason why exterior and interior customisation is set so you unlock them after you put roughly 2h into the game. It's a shame because if there was a normal ingame currency, it would likely be a pretty good game. As it is right now, I think you should stay miles away from this. EDIT: I just realised that stuff in this game used to cost like $300 before, well it definitely improved than... but you still gonna spend a lot too much money for a game that you have to pay2play in first place...

ive seen some reviews of people saying the physics are unrealistic? like bro, if you want realism get on assetto. or better yet go get a real car. these physics are some of the most fun ive had in drifting since the fh2-3 days. im willing to wait more than a month for updates if they are actually good quality. people forget this game is in EARLY ACCESS. there is a ton more features, cars and customisation on the way. ive put nearly 100 hours into just the tuning alone and its very in depth. and thats not even mentioning the leaderboard grind you can do. overall very excited for the future of this game as this is a very good start to an early access game

This game is pretty fun. Don't expect anything very realistic whilest playing on the controller, but it's fun to just drift around. I do have 2 big issues with this game though: - I played the free version for a long time, and I understood why it took so long to get in game currency, after all micro transactions were the only way for the devs to make money at the time, but now I paid for this game, and it still takes a long time to get some good amount of in game currency. - The optimization is still terrible. I have a fairly decent PC with 32GB of RAM, an I5 and a RTX 3050, but even though I'm playing on low settings, I still get a lot of FPS drops.

This game is not ready even for an early access. No controller mapping can be set. They are hard-coded. Sure, you can use Xbox Accessories to map the buttons on your controller according to your own preferences, but then you lose the wireless capabilities, cannot play via bluetooth anymore and have to play wired via USB for the configuration to work. Come on guys it is 2025 lol Also, you can just use your steering wheel (assuming you have a sim of course) and yes, that works. BUT If, for that, only, why would we even bother leaving AC?... (AND you have VR!) This is supposed to be fun and enjoyable experience so at least give people the option. Not to mention that physics and many more (not even talking about the customization etc) would not even be nearly the same anyway, so what's the point? To give it a second chance, in hopes of excitement I plugged in the Sim and did some laps. It's decent, really. But not there yet... Car handles weird and Steering Wheel centering looks slow and off with car momentum. Of course, it was just the beginning of the game with the starter car maybe later on better cars would have more caster and specific adjustments and so on, what is expected from Torque Drift, but still. This coming from who drives a real racecar and played OG Torque Drift COUNTLESS hours and it is just a GREAT game. Really. One of the best ones I have ever played all things considered (and I am from the Golden NFS era) specially talking about mobile limitations. And it is a FREE game! Stick more to those origins please, make TD2 decent. We've waited more than 2 years for this. Graphics are also good but not great. Not that I mind, specially for the size of the game. But for new gen folks it is still lacking some touches... AA, Smoothing and all that. Sometimes curves and details are pixelated (and I have a top tier RTX video card). Again, we all played the mobile one so it really doesn't matter. But at least make the game itself flawlewss. Grab what's best from CarX "controller and graphics"-wise mix with what best from AC "physics and handling"-wise and you'll have a almost unbeatable game for the modern era parameters and car enthusiasts people. Paying $19.90 for a game where you need to "some hacking" right off the start is just not worthy. Yeah, right, NO MOD NO LIFE it is then! lol but... What a hassle. Maybe in the future? And definitely wait for a deal, not for this price. Unfortunately I have refunded this game. Just writing all this from the bottom of the heart in hopes the development team wakes up and we have something that really shifts the scene nowadays because it is still crap and we haven't had a good racing game for a while. Peace!

This game could've easily been 'Very Positive' or even 'Overwhemingly Positive' with a 10-15 USD price increase if developers weren't so detached from reality. Let's start by saying there are 3 main reasons I somewhat enjoy playing Torque Drift 2, even if there are more consumer-friendly drift sims around: 1. Graphics - Unreal Engine 5 has bad performance, yes. And I have a 4090. Graphically tho, looks stunning. Car materials, lights, models and environments are unmatched in this game compared to other games like CarX or even modded Assetto Corsa. 2. Licensed Parts & Cars - While there isn't a lot of content yet, you can find most cars and tracks you would expect from a drift game (as of February 2025, no european brands - except for a Lamborghini - unluckily). In terms of tracks, there's a classic mountain touge, Long Beach, Daikoku (best rendition of Daikoku I've ever seen), Ebisu... 3. Destruction - While kinda basic, I think bumpers detaching from the vehicle really add to immersion when everything goes wrong and you wall-tap at high speeds. Having said that, there are a few reasons Torque Drift 2 won't surpass Assetto Corsa and CarX; some choices made by the developers are honestly baffling. At first, they implemented NFTs: every car, part, was an insanely priced NFT. How could they think this was a good idea? There's literally no reason I can think of where someone could like that and not avoid this game. In the current version NFTs were luckily removed (I would've never bought this game otherwise), but their reputation is stained from that move and rightly so. Like many other mostly-singleplayer games, Torque Drift 2 also suffers from the always-online formula. No internet connection, you can't play. When are they gonna realize this stuff drives people away from their games? Let's add to the fact that everything you buy (in-game and yes, currency can be bought with real money) is server-side. Some parts are available only on rotation: if you want that cool wheel, you gotta wait for it to be available. Digital fake products are made scarce for no reason at all. Based on the fact that there's a solid base, and while excusing the fact that it's still lacking some content (like custom liveries, a driver model, a greater selection of events, vehicles, tracks, the forced HUD on display - really?) which are somehow forgivable for an early access title (which I don't really trust anymore), those anti-consumer tactics chosen by a relatively small studio (that really needed redemption after the NFTs fiasco) for a game which is already in its own niche I don't feel is deserving of a positive review. I highly suggest taking a look at how Genki released TXR (early-access as well) and why it's been so succesful (right now the most played racing game surpassing in sales other AAA/AA releases).

Greetings all! First of all I do get it, that this game is in state of early access. (I will update review, as game develops) I`m writing this, because I want the game to be better for all of us, gamers. I truly wish I could recommend this game, no matter how much I would like to do so. I have 800+ hours in first Torque drift combined PC + Phone, since I`ve been playing this as relaxing drift-cade, it was fun. When I heard about Torque Drift 2, I was excited for having better drift-cade with tandem possibilities, either with random people or with Your friend. But since this came it, it left me disappointed. Even for early access this game is in rough stage. It barely runs above 60fps on 1440p with 13gen i7 and 3080ti, 32GB of, not the best in market, but not an entry level system with DLSS(which makes devs lazy to optimise game), should be able to handle more. It needs, and I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH this game needs huge performance optimization ! No need for hyper photo-realism if game cannot maintain somewhat decent frame rates and frame times. Gameplay. Cars and tuning is still in progress, again as this is in Early access, however, tuning menu needs UI work, not just one long list where to find, for example rear suspension, You need to go all the way down. Not to mention differential, which is at the very end of the list. This is so user unfriendly. Same for part shop, good luck with controller to select pats. always skips, the suspension (yes, again suspension) either to Wheels or to next part. Tuning is meh, what metric for tyre pressure ir 0-50, bar/psi, who knows? Hopefully, devs will change it. It takes a bit of time to get enough "TOFU" game currency used to purchase/upgrade cars and parts, this is grind, which isn`t bad. The bad this is again the UI, as game is a bit of grind either You collect around couple thousands to make decent upgrades all at once or do it part by part, in between of runs. It is so hard to keep track of what parts are already installed from shop menu. UI, and HUD also needs some work. Why half of the screen space is packed by how much points I have, and right cornet just shows how much point are needed for 1,2,3 places. Again all good, that the information is there, just make it so HUD and HUD elements could be turned off, like point counter and other clutter. For one chase run I focus on drift not on score in the middle of drift, please make HUD more customizable, so the certain elements can be turned off. Freestyle runs are ok, just to set up the car somehow, as tuning is lacking metrics. Hero runs, where finally some tandems, even prerecorded ones by devs, are possible, there are couple HUGE problems. Since Torque Drift 2 has a FormulaD partnership, they should know how tandem runs work, however, in game it is opposite. In HERO runs, when countdown 3-2-1-Start lead car starts taking off starting life at 1, not at Start. In which part of the world lead car can start earlier than chase car? In FormulaD and in all over the world drift events chase car can start a bit earlier. How can game which started as Tandem orientated and is in partnership with FormulaD get this so wrong? Lead car is lagging, back and forth, making it nearly impossible to have decent chase run. Collisions are so bad, car bounces like its not a drift but table tennis, again its in early access, this should get better. For now only viable options are single player runs or try to do HERO ( chase ) runs. Making online lobby is absolute garbage. Either all lobbies are 200+ ping or You make Your own lobby, ping will be around 60+ ms. Does not sound that bad, right...Well no. As the lobby is created in Torque Drift dedicated servers and even with 50ping the inputs are so delayed its impossible to get online with anyone. I cannot recommend this game at this state, needs a lot of work. I wish this game can become decent drift-cade to chill with all the OFFICIALLY licensed cars, part brands (even Toyota) and FormulaD partnership. If the devs ignore all the feedback which players are giving and nothing changes, all the partnerships from brands and ForrmulaD should reconsider, do they want their Brand being associated with this game.
