Honestly, this isn't my type of game, and I really don't like it. The puzzles infuriates me and there is no "tip" system in figuring out how to solve the puzzles. The minimalistic "paint" graphics is also totally not to my liking, as it feels unfinished to me, but it is the design of the game. I only bought this game because I wanted to support a friend. (yes you Cyanide)
That being said, Voidstepper is a challenging puzzle platformer game where you need to solve "out of the box" challenges to get to the exit. Sometimes requiring to pick up "atom" keys and avoiding deadly lasers, flying bombs and other weird lethal objects. The "minimalistic" design gives the game a chance to actual excel in what appears to contribute to the puzzle uniqueness and evolving difficulty. You'll have to figure out how to solve the puzzles and understand the mechanics of destruction the game presents to you. Soundtrack is a bit lacking, but for what it is, it's not a big deal.
The game is recommended to be played with a controller. This will make the game much easier.
Voidstepper isn't for the casual gamer in my opinion, but if you enjoy solving puzzles in a platformer setting, thinking out of the box solutions whilst avoiding/working with destructive environments, and you don't mind the minimalistic design, this game might definitely scratch an itch. And the price is very reasonable.
