I completely disagree with some of the other reviews about the game.
Yes, there is a lot at the start, because there is a lot to do. But the tutorial walks you through everything literally step by step. You might mess up at the start, but that's ok! But if you can't follow simple instructions, then sure, this game isn't for you. However, if you can follow the incredibly complex instructions of: if there is a gun, check who owns the suitcase, see if they have a permit on the manifest, and if not it's illegal or if so it's legal, then you might like this game.
The time limit can be challenging, but you can disable that in custom games and there will be a toggle to disable it mid-game coming soon. The dev is just about the most responsive dev I've ever seen and answers every question.
And hell, if you just want to have fun chilling and scanning bags and removing contraband without worrying about things, you can turn every penalty and restriction off entirely. This isn't a competitive game, have some fun.
As far as the actual game is concerned: it's an Airport X-Ray simulator. It's exactly what it sounds like and is great considering that. It is a 10/10 Airport X-Ray simulator. Seriously - the modeling, the types of things you would find and where, is seriously top notch.
If that sounds like what you want, this game delivers exactly that. There is a simple progression system with a few tiers (it's early access), but the fundamentals stay the same: scan bags, handle contraband, repeat.
It's a perfect Airport X-Ray sim, a great indie sim game, and a wonderful chill background game. But you have to be able to follow a few rules and read some text, which is apparently difficult for some people.
10/10 if you can read, 0/10 if you can't

TL;DR, Gameplay seems hectic. It's clearly had a lot of effort and passion put into it. If you like simulation games, give it a go. Might be for you. Might not.
Now, to be fair, I will start out by saying, the hour or so that I played this game, I was playing on a laptop in a hotel room so, maybe not the ideal way to play this game. That being said, I find the idea and concepts behind this game fun. Where I have a problem, though, is the game's difficulty and hectic timing. I played on both the easiest and the middle difficulty. On the easiest, you're thrown an insane amount of contraband and confiscations. I get that this is to make the game fun so you can experience all the bizzare ways people hide their stuff. You're given a lot of time to take care of the luggage so, imo, it feels too easy.
However, the middle difficulty has an acceptable amount of contraband but gives you quite little time. In the 3-ish in game days I played, I was not able to finish all arrivals in time. Because of this, you're given penalization warnings. The crazy difference between the two difficulties is quite harsh and has pushed me away from this game, for now.
This game, in it's current state, isn't for me. That being said, give it a go. It might be a great game for you!

The people leaving bad reviews have a skill issue because this game can be tailored to your preferences on difficulty, so if you can't even beat the easiest custom gamemode i don't know what to say. The dev is super sweet and on top of everything, constantly updating the game.
Once again most people don't understand how the game works or take the time to get good at it they just get frustrated and ragequit. I do recommend this game but it's in early access so calm down

Id like to point out to you, read the medication boxes. They are funny.
You take on the role of a flight security baggage inspector.
Simply put, you inspect bags to make sure there is no discrepancies nor illegal stuff.
Don’t be discourage for getting 0%. it’s part of learning.
Some items might not be obvious, so best is to read the end report to see what means what for flagging and confiscating.
Sometimes you get a random event to deal with. Be creative. It’s easy to solve.
Conveyor malfunction? Just garb all the bags and throw them to the ground!
Graphics are simply polygonal.
Personal cons:
You cannot dismantle objects to look inside. The scanner is your only method.
(That or you must unlock the ability?)
Time advances even during your downtime! So always Skip Time to the next flight.
A few tips:
Long scissors of 10cm count as bladed weapons.
A wrench is a non-lethal weapon. Confiscate.
Some bags have plastic toy weapons, use the Xray to see the Metal vs Plastic ones.

One of my first concerns with modern simulator games is whether they're just shallow asset flips. While I can’t deny that Airport X-Ray Simulator uses third-party assets, it doesn’t feel like a cheap cash grab. The game world feels cohesive, and the visuals follow a consistent and clean art style.
The standout feature is the scanning mechanic. It's surprisingly well done. When you open a piece of luggage, you can move individual items around, then re-scan to see how the arrangement has changed. With later upgrades, it becomes even more detailed.
I do wish there was a way to scan individual items outside the luggage. Sometimes, when I’m sorting through multiple objects, I lose track of which item was suspicious. The confiscation basket seems like it could be part of the solution, but once placed from the build menu, it can’t be picked up again.
On "fun" difficulty, the pacing can feel off. There is often too much suspicious luggage to get through, requiring near-constant inspection. I even failed to finish all baggage in a single day multiple times. It's not a deal-breaker and probably patchable, but for now, consider avoiding the fun difficulty setting if you're looking for a smoother gameplay flow.

The game throws a bunch of information at you and all these rules you have to follow and the tutorial doesn't really explain the process of the game to you. The game itself is not challenging but trying to retain all that information is. That's not what really bothered me or why I am leaving this review. The real reason are the bugs. I had a suitcase with excess tobacco and ammo, I flagged it as such, with me even seeing the logo above the luggage, and it still told me I was wrong, claiming there was no ammo. The last straw was luggage not showing up on the X-ray, which I thought was weird and when I went on to check them, they didn't open and I could no longer pick up the suitcases. This game could be fun and challenging, but needs a lot of work.

The game is fast-paced and unforgiving, and that would be okay except that it doesn't ease you in nor really help you understand what you did wrong. I think the game would be better if you had more days with fewer bags and fewer possible issues to find. Day 2 having everything from fake guns to hidden drugs to loose cash just doesn't prepare you to play the game.
Beyond that the game starts the worse way a game can start: a wall of text that still leaves you confused.
