# Summary
I'm very happy this exists, and the price is great. I'm really enjoying playing it. I'll be buying whatever new games are put out in this system. It's fun to play this after playing Take Command: 2nd Manassas as it's the same scale as the larger battles in that game but much quicker to play, with no micromanagement of brigades and artillery.

# The PC-game implementation
## The UI
The UI is a little janky/unaesthetic and there are some spelling mistakes but the actual game works very well, I haven't seen any bugs and the UI is very helpful for understanding what you need to do next. I love that the full game manual is available from within the game and that there's a "?" for each phase that brings up the relevant rules for that phase.
It would be nice if the scenarios that required you to trace a path between two points had a button that would highlight the possible paths that could be taken to satisfy that objective. For example, Chickamauga.
It would be better if the briefing for each scenario included the historical context, maybe in a separate section or at the bottom. I've been playing with no idea what the bigger picture is.
## The AI
IME weak AI is the biggest problem in wargames. Playing the Chancellorsville scenario as the Confederates I found that the Union did not make use of many of its divisions (the ones that arrived from off-map and several of the Union divisions that start on the other side of the river from Fredericksburg). So it seems like playing against the AI may be a helpful way to get familiar with the game mechanics, but you'll want to play against a human to get the full experience that the game has to offer. And the AI might be better when on the defense, I'll have to see. But if I had to pick any single thing for the developer to work on, it would be the AI.
## Custom/random scenarios
I like that you have the ability to somewhat modify the scenarios. It would be nice if there was a full scenario-editor or random-battle generator like the ones in Combat Mission or Take Command: 2nd Manassas.

# The core game mechanics
It's interesting that you don't need to worry about LOS of your artillery (especially the Union's "Heavy Artillery Concentration"), which is a big consideration in Take Command: 2nd Manassas, especially when fighting through woods. Like, you can use artillery support when advancing through the woods, that seems unrealistic but maybe not such a big deal when trying to keep the rules simple.

# Scale
"Map hexes are half a mile per hex. Units are primarily Divisions (large counters) with large Divisions represented by multiple counters. Detachments are typically brigade or regimental formations (small counters). Each game turn is half a day, making every two turns one day of historical time."
ChatGPT says divisions were typically 6,000-12,000 men, brigades were 1500-3000 men, regiments were 400-600 men. So it seems like each division counter is around 6,000 men and each detachment counter is around 2000 men.
A half mile is 880 yards, canister is ideally used at <200 yards and max range is up to 400 yards, so each hex is like 4 times the canister ideal range or 2x the max range. Smoothbore cannons have a range of 1200-1600 yards so Confederate artillery would have a range of 1.5-2 hexes.

mechanics are cool - the dice are a little finicky but it is fun once you get it.

This feeling when you maneuver for 40 minutes only for the AI to break and freeze your game forever.
Also, the scenarios are weird because its always most beneficial to snipe one enemy unit and then not attack like ever. Victory points for killing enemy units coupled with potential infinite movement and 80% of every map being defensive terrain create extremely bizzare game flow.

Very good implementation of Rebel Fury tabletop wargame. I just hope they will do some tweaks to AI to be a bit more smarter and it will be amazing. Also hoping for more maps from another volumes!!

First board game conversion I've ever really liked.
An absolute no brainer if you ever played ACW cardboard and paper.
Killer bargain at $10.
