I have now 100% the rat game and I think, THIS GAME SUCKS ITS SO BORING. I SPENT 18 OF THE 20.7 HOURS PLAYING THIS WATCHING YOUTUBE VIDEOS WHILE IT AUTO BATTLED IN THE BACK GROUND WITH ME OCCASIONALLY CLICKING AN UPGRADE. I love the art. Silly Rats with guns, Love it. I HATE THE RNG GAME PLAY LOOP OF HAVING MY RUN RUINED BY THE RNG RAT NOT GIVING ME THE LAST LVL 7 UPGRADE I NEED TO GET THE FINALLY ACHIVEMENT!

The quality here is good. Art, sound, effects are pleasant.
But:
1. It's a VERY small game
There is only 1! weapon.
There are around 12 upgrades - half of them are very basic (=boring, like attack speed, attack damage, reload speed), the other half is literally useless (you need to kill enemies in a second or two because of how fast they spawn, and you have delayed damage upgrades or poison...)
There are several characters, but they only differ in the starting upgrade (remember, there is only 1 weapon in the game) and a skill tree (which is mostly, again, faster reload, more damage/effectiveness to a certain upgrade)
2. Because of the above, every run plays the same. You pick attack speed, lightning, reload speed, ammo, and whatever else rng throws at you, aside from-
3. Aside from very random and very unpredictable X-tier cheat upgrades. You have a small chance to get it among other upgrade offers, and they are borderline cheating. Like x2 damage or unlimited projectile pierce.
4. But because of the above, the game is extremely unbalanced - if you don't get this X-tier upgrade, bye-bye.
And the last thing - this isn't an action roguelike. It's an idler.
The arena is very small. Your character and enemies are big. Your weapon has an almost screen-wide range. There are no pickups, no hazards, and all enemies are just hp bars with different skins (they don't have abilities, effects or anything, they don't do anything besides trying to collide with you). So there is literally no point in moving.
Enemies rush at you, and you either have enough dps to just kill them, or you don't. Yes, at the later stages you can try to wiggle around to survive 3-4 seconds longer, but you'll still die in a few moments because you don't have enough dps.
So the gameplay is - you afk, spend upgrades every 10-15 seconds, and then 10 minutes later you die (or complete 99 levels because you had a couple X-tier upgrades).
And again. The quality is good. The atmosphere is nice. But at least for me, the game isn't there, it was absolutely not something I was expecting from "Action Roguelike".

I bought this game on sale thinking it would be a 10 minute tosser, but to my surprise I spent all day today getting every achievement. This VS-like game is simplistic yet deep enough that you won't be able to put it down and it doesn't overstay its welcome-- definitely recommended!

super fun, even though i've gotten every achievement i still find this game super fun to play. the game is graphically very cute. I love the design of the the rats and the enemies. I find every rat fun to play and every rats mechanics is well thought out and different. very good game. definitely worth the price. I will be checking out other games by this developer.
