This is a banger. A deep deck-builder that brings out some digimon and yu-gi-oh esque nostalgia. The battle system is quite interesting. Every round there are two separate phases, where you can target enemy monsters in the first, but not in the second. Players can take up to two actions before the other player gets to play. If you take no actions, the phase ends for both. There are different types of cards, many effects, and possibilities for combining cards from different classes into a deck. Decks are between 40-60 cards. There are 400+ cards to discover. Those are the basics, and there is more to explore. Highly recommend.

I randomly found this game after YouTube fed me someone playing the demo. I purchased the game a few days later and I'm hooked. The story line is engaging and the mechanics of the TCG are simple enough that you can start playing rather quickly, but the different cards types and elements allow for a really rich depth of game play and strategy as you advance through the game and your collections grow. I've played a fair amount of TCGs and all of the typical elements and archtypes are well represented. However, the unique mechanics of the game itself allow for unique interactions you wouldn't necessarily find in other games like MtG, Pokemon, or YGO.

I never played Anode Heart, but I am always a fan of a collectible card game where you get to craft your own decks, discover wacky strategies and find something that seems broken. This game seems very fun, and very early on I found a nature synergy that seems strong, but requires set up, and is very easily countered but if they don't counter it it is GG game over you win. because you are able to pull off combos like that, this is the style of game I enjoy.

It's just the kind of game I've been looking for. A non-roguelike single player card game with story-related progression where you gradually find new cool cards and strategies. If you miss this kind of system from the old Pokemon and Digimon card games on the GameBoy and PS1 respectively, this is the new indie game for you.

I cannot speak highly enough of this game.
It's so refreshing to have a card game that isn't a roguelike or a perpetual drain on the wallet.
There are a lot of single player roguelikes out there to hit your drafting fix but really not a lot of single player constructed-style games and none that I have found that are as good as this one. Bugs are few and far between; the music is good; and, most importantly, the card design is interesting.
The scope for creative deck building is enormous once you get to grips with the game systems. Almost every card has a meaningful place in a deck of some kind if you understand its strengths and weaknesses enough to build around them. If you like to go deep into deck building, this is the game for you.
The game is still in Early Access but is very polished, though do note there are balance adjustments from time to time. The developer is very active on Discord and is diligent in working on releasing new content regularly.
