Feels just like Link to the Past. I miss simple sprite games like this.

It's bad! Assets look good but in motion it's awful to play. there's no level design, no engaging combat, no items or any sauce to the main game mode. The first person boss fights are a neat idea but ultimately they'r enot very fun either. The block / parry move you have to do is incredibly laggy and doesn't show up for some reason, sometimes.
Ultimately, i wouldn't recommend it. Disappointing, inti creates.

Cool demo - where's the full game?
....
what do you mean by "that IS the full game"?!
Seriously, I wasn't exactly expecting a forty hour epic but Flamefrit is insanely barebones even for the asking price and even I as a huge sucker for Wataru, Ryu Knight, Knight Lamune &40, Granzort and whatnot can't recommend this at all.

A fun little linear adventure, in the style of a younger-leaning shounen anime. Simple combat loop and great boss music, with a fun Punch-out-style boss battle system. I'd love to see this expanded into a bigger title!

Short and Basic but Cool and Fun Game Tribute to SD Fan mech shows like Mashin Hero Wataru and Ryu Knight.
Graphics and Art are great and it's just a very charming experience, at least for me.
I'd Love to see a sequel to this, if Inticreates decides to do it because it has a solid foundation.

This game is pretty short but it's worth the price. I think the length of this game is perfect given the simplicity of its gameplay. The highlight of this game is the boss battles, which are really fun and do not overstay their welcome. I managed to 100% this game in under 3 hours so if you're the kind of person who likes to 100% a game, this shouldn't be much of a trouble unless you're not familiar with action games.

A fun quick little game that, to my knowledge, started out as a joke. Hence the comedic writing. That said the artwork and music are well done, on top of the simple yet enjoyable hack and slash game play. The real meat of the game are the boss fights though. It's addicting nailing the timings for FLAME SABER! If this game had just a few more bosses (and a Boss Rush mode) it would've felt more worth the full price. I almost half expected to fight the allied Dynamos but, I guess they can only fit in so many tropes.

Divine Dynamo Flamefrit is a topdown 2D action game with first person boss battles in the style of SNES/Genesis games. It has a bit of a unique history in that its initial announcement was believed to be an April Fool's joke from INTI CREATES. It seemed like the concept had potential so the likelihood of the game as a joke did not set well with me, only to find that the DDF was being attached as a pre-order bonus for another game (Card-en-Ciel) in addition to being sold on its own. As a pre-order bonus, I think DDF is a steal. If not, I would still recommend it but with a few qualifiers.
The visuals of this game are very much a throwback to the 90s as is the excellent soundtrack. The gameplay in both the top down 2D segments and first person boss battles are great. The 2D combat is fluid and dynamic and the boss battles (while occasionally having seriously padded health bars) feel fantastic. The biggest thing that does have me qualify my recommendation and cannot be overlooked is that there are exactly three not especially long levels levels and four bosses in this game. I took my time and it still only took me 3.5ish hours to beat it, some more skilled players could easily clear this in 2 hours. What's there is a fun time, but there really isn't much of it. Another frustrating aspect is that the final boss battle ends with a quicktime events where it is not clear at all what input you should press to complete the final battle. Is it RB or LB, commonly used for blocking in the mech sessions? NOPE. It's up on the D-pad. I would have never figured that out without posts on Steam. On the bright side, the quicktime event restarts every time you fail it so your (likely) multiple deaths can easily be avoided once you figure the input without slogging through the final battle again.
These qualifiers aside, I did enjoy my time with DDF. Most would likely clear it over the course of an afternoon and that's ok. I was just expecting a ton more, which hopefully this game works as a proof of concept that allows for a sequel. If INTI CREATES announced a sequel, I would pick it up instantly. Until then, I would still recommend DDF knowing that while its fires burn bright, they do not burn for long.

There's no reason to explore, you don't get anything from it. There's no reason to kill enemies, outside of the rooms that require it and to ensure that they cannot kill you on your backtrack. Yuto doesn't get any stronger, it just comes down to use summons and hope to find potions that refill your... whatever bar to do more summons.
Yuto cannot cancel attack animations, so if you want to dodge while the sword is still moving, too bad. The game doesn't tell you, either, that if you attack after a dodge, you can do an instant kill attack.
But the real kicker are the boss fights, which are BEYOND boring and tedious. Move crosshair to thing you want to shoot, push attack button to shoot, rinse and repeat until the boss gets close, hold block button, go back to the shooting, have them get close, block, mash attack button to do an attack that does little damage, keep repeating a dozen of so times. Summons work in boss battles, but they don't do a whole lot of damage, so you're still just stuck doing the same thing so often that your hands and thumbs get tired.
This seriously isn't fun. The demo had all the charm and enjoyment you can find in the game, and that's just the first area. It's the high water mark, and it all just goes downhill from there.
Oh, and the plot is generic anime slop that tries, vaguely, to be clever, but it just comes off as lame. Seriously, the main character is generic I'M FIRED UP protag, the first chick is his CHILDHOOD FRIEND who obviously has a thing for him, the next guy is a friend they both know... come on.
So terrible that I refunded.

This is a proof of concept at best. It's an incredibly basic action game where the character can slash, or do one of three flavors of screen clearing. The boss battles are a minigame that reference the Impact fights from Goemon.
Most of the game is spent backtracking through empty rooms waiting for the fun to happen.
