This is a good fun simple game. I agree with most others that after a while this game just becomes extremely rinse and repeat and lacks any real depth. Like more random events or a larger skill tree or something like bosses might make this game more interesting for longer plays. i bought it on sale so I got my money worth but I doubt I will come back to it again. If I do it would be again for like 10 hours and then ill be good again.

upgrading buildings takes a lot of resources which requires you to build more storage spaces that give little capacity for that resource (upgrades cost 2x or more for the same capacity as the base building)
its easy to run into the issue of not enough deer being in the forest / repopulating to feed your guys while trying to get the resources to unlock farming as fast as possible (could have used the trader for food but forgot he exists and again limited storage capacity)
farming you unlock the ability to craft the tools for it at workstation 3 (which needs base 3) but the building to actually farm needs base 4 (again a lot of resources needed)
so while I was waiting for the resources to unlock farming I got a thunderstorm and lightning killed a (to the current limit) fully upgraded storage building... twice... because thats fun (again a lot more resources needed to get that needed capacity back in this case 450 wood for 150 wood capacity each)
by upgrading base tiers you unlock upgrades for buildings that need resources that you cannot produce yet since that needs another base tier. which is weird since the game tells you "you need base tier x for this upgrade" so why unlock it early when it is completely useless?

Good game: It's about sending your people to their jobs, create workplaces for them and manage ressources to advance towards completing a caravan for "fleeing". Did not got to collect ONE piece of the caravan. And the achievementlist shows, neither did the majority of players.
8 to 9 Euros for 9.7 hours playtime, and i feel i will not come further (Day 99) in this game. The hope is, there will someday be some meta-progression patched in, as the dev(s) stated;

Its a great idea of a game, and the first ~120 days are interesting, but then -like other reviews have already said- the game gets a bit stale. There is no replayability, there isn't anything else to do, no other challenge. If this was fleshed out way more I'd love to leave a positive review, but at this point it feels short and formulaic.

Needs more content and variety. once you learn the path the game practically forces you to take for upgrades or you lose thats all there is to it.
theres no strategy variety theres no unique events or outcomes. Pretty bare bones overall for a colony builder game. Disappointing. I completed a couple runs of the game and am head scratching going "thats it..?" it feels like its early on in early access yet full release. No meta progression, no gear upgrading,
Barebones "skill" tree is just a time gate with uninteresting perks like "deal +1 dmg with knives" though you dont know the hp of zombies so you cant even tell if that will help reach a breakpoint or not. you just spend skillpoints on the skilltree to make the icon go away then go back to what you were doing. You cant race down one path of skilltree either and minmax. Your only choices there are which order to unlock the next tier of uninspired perks.
I dont feel the need to return to this game, theres no run variation, theres just not enough content here to justify asking price even on sale.

I love the idea, the graphic style and the UI. I'm a big fan of survival and base building games and this game fits right in. Tho, IMHO, it still need some work. As another reviewer has mentioned, I felt like there was only one way to play it and the gameplay wasn't great at all. You have to do the same things over and over again to survive the nights or to have enough food.
I gave up playing before getting the last building because I was tired to do the same chores again and again.
# Recommendations for the developers
But no bitching, without pitching, my recommendations to make it a great game (again, IMHO) are:
- the skill tree should be a skill tree. Right now is... linear. You can choose what to pick, but you receive the exact "coins" to go horizontally and not specializing in some areas. It doesn't make sense saving coins to buy something different later. Just give me the buffs automatically then, picking a new buff was only an additional chore. Maybe introduce a research facility.
- It requires too many instances of the same buildings. Just let me upgrade the buildings more, and more significantly. Upgrading a wood storage costs too much for only +50 wood. Add a couple more different buildings to fill the space.
- Please resolve this. Every night I had to do the same thing like a robot. I had to remove people from their day jobs to put them on guard duty. And backwards in the morning. This is the biggest chore for the player. Why have it this way? Just ask me how many guards and where, and automatically they go at sunset in position.
- Let me disable specific buildings.
- Passive buffs. It is linked with the first point, but I repeat for emphasis. Give me more passive buffs. It doesn't feel good when the only way to increase food production is to build a new farm (because upgrading is the last resort) and allocate people (which most probably I don't have). I would appreciate a little buff here and there, not a lot and not too powerful is fine. Just give me the choice: I need more food, do I build a new farm o do I buy a buff?
Thanks for the game, tho. I can see you put a lot of work and passion in it!
