📸 THE HEADLINERS: Get The Shot. Or Get Got. 📸

TL;DR: Team up as reckless journalists in a city swarming with monsters. Your mission: snap insane photos, make headlines, and try not to die. Pure co-op chaos for the clout. So, New York's gone wild with creatures, and you and your crew are the last ones crazy enough to run in with cameras. This game is all about that first-person horror co-op grind, but with a twist: you're not scavenging for scrap, you're hunting for the most bonkers photos. Expect pure pandemonium. You'll be dodging aliens, running through explosions, and for real, getting bonus points for snapping your friends getting mauled. The objective? Make it back alive with headline-worthy footage before the 10-minute timer runs out, or you're fired – or worse, dead. It's got that "Lethal Company" energy but swaps the scrap for sick pics. If you wanna scream, laugh, and get some ridiculously chaotic highlights with your squad, "The Headliners" is your spot.

Incredibly fun with your mates, the game plays a lot like Content Warning if you're familiar with that. The map variation is fun and the monsters are suitably funny and scary. The only thing I would want added on top of what's already there is a way to recover lost photos, even if that is in a similar way to content warning where they are storey locally in a temporary folder and you can access them after the lost run to share with friends. Other than that great game and would definitely recommend to play with your friends! :D

The Headliners is a chaotic and inventive cooperative horror-action game that spins the traditional monster-hunting genre on its head by casting players not as warriors or survivors, but as adrenaline-fueled photojournalists. Developed by KAFI, the game drops you and up to three friends into a stylized city under siege by colossal, bizarre creatures. Your objective? Don’t kill the monsters—photograph them. Armed with little more than a camera, a flashlight, and your courage, you're tasked with capturing the most dramatic, high-stakes images possible before time runs out or you're torn apart by the very subject of your story. What makes The Headliners shine is its clever twist on survival mechanics. Instead of collecting weapons or hoarding supplies, players are encouraged to explore urban environments in search of perfect photo opportunities. The better the framing, timing, and proximity of your shot, the higher your score—and your payout. These points unlock access to new gear like upgraded cameras, protective helmets, or expanded backpacks, all of which enhance your ability to stay alive while chasing the perfect shot. The game’s monster design is equally compelling: towering aliens, freakish hybrids, and hulking beasts roam the streets and alleys, forcing players to weigh every decision between fleeing and getting that one perfect frame. Visually, the game opts for a clean, stylized aesthetic that makes it both accessible and surprisingly tense when monsters appear. The environments—neon-lit streets, abandoned subways, crumbling buildings—create just enough atmosphere to put you on edge without sacrificing visual clarity. Sound plays a major role in the game’s tension as well; proximity voice chat adds both comedy and dread, as players shout warnings or scream in panic while trying to regroup or flee. The movement is deliberately sluggish, forcing you to commit to every run or hiding spot, which adds a layer of strategic stress that complements the frantic gameplay. The Headliners is undeniably at its best when played cooperatively. The game thrives on shared chaos—whether it's a teammate heroically baiting a monster for a photo op or accidentally trapping the group in a dead-end building. Each session feels like a mashup of found-footage horror and absurd multiplayer comedy, striking a rare balance between tension and hilarity. However, it’s not without shortcomings. After several hours, players may start to notice repetition in the monster encounters and mission structure. The maps, while well-designed, can begin to feel familiar quickly, and exploration off the beaten path often doesn’t yield much reward beyond the occasional eerie ambiance. Despite these issues, The Headliners has a solid foundation and shows promise for growth. The developers have shown a commitment to ongoing support, regularly releasing patches, balancing changes, and content updates. The game’s low price point and pick-up-and-play format make it perfect for short bursts of fun with friends, though its novelty may wear thin for those looking for deeper, long-term progression systems. In the end, The Headliners offers a refreshingly original concept: a horror experience where your goal isn’t to fight the monster, but to document the moment it nearly devours you. With its mix of comedy, horror, teamwork, and photographic ambition, it manages to carve out a niche all its own. While it may not have the depth or variety to keep players hooked indefinitely, it absolutely delivers on its premise with style, energy, and originality. For fans of co-op chaos and weird, bite-sized thrills, it’s well worth stepping behind the lens. Rating: 8/10

Instant deaths = no thanks. When you get hit you ragdoll every where making it impossible to reorient yourself. Long grab times where you just get repeatedly hit for lots of health. ♥♥♥♥ this game.

Somehow optimized even worse than lethal company. This game is unplayable on lower end hardware, and the gameplay is super underwhelming. The footstep slapping being so fast when walking makes it inherently goofy, not scary. I got into this game not knowing any of what was happening, and being able to outrun monsters while backpedaling is so stupid, what is the point? I didn't get any feeling of existential dread or fear, it's just a clunky mess. Coming straight from playing content warning, repo and lethal company, the thing those games did right was making you feel scared shitless while laughing at your friends, this is not that. No atmosphere, just tons of particles and bloom that is trying to cover up the bad AI art pictures on the walls. You cannot be selling a product for profit while using AI art in the game, not without a disclaimer or public backlash at the least. Come on man. Grow up, commission a real artist. Theres tons of good indie games out there, i dont think this is it. Cashing off of a good concept that somebody else already did well unfortunately, which is sad because I think this game could have a lot of potential. This is not even worthy of an early access with how jank it is, get your movement code and netcode figured out, get some polished character models, and a real designer to make your maps fun. This looks worse than a bunch of flipped unity assets, its pathetic. I dont understand how games like quake and doom were made so long ago and feel incredible while games made in 2024 or 2025 can feel this jank and crap. Edit: I bought this a few months ago before actually opening the game to play it, and regret that I cannot refund it :/ You dont deserve my money. Also the most fun part of your game was literally me goingg into the shop and buying hundreds of free cameras to flood the lobby. Sitting still and holding E on a camera for 20 minutes was more entertaining than your game. Well done.

Utilising my communications degree so I can be a journalist in a game. Great casual no-commitment co-op game. 9/10 I can sacrifice myself for content.

The game is fun but it could be far more fun, the amount of times you're killed by random BS is pretty insane. Unlike similar games, where deaths are usually like "Oh, I shouldnt have done that" or "He snuck up on me." This game is kinda like, Oh, you were standing near a car that got bumped and didnt actually touch you? Close enough. *EXPLODES* And if you die, you lose your photos. Which is fine to lose the point, but let me see my photos still. Id also really like a character editor since you can do selfies, itd be nice to actually make a character to have in. Ill keep this negative review here till some of this is fix/changed/added.

Just...not fun. Basically a mediocre version of Content Warning as taking photos just isn't funny compared to videos.
