I know that the game is on early access and there are some bugs, but my game running on lowest settings was on 15 fps max with pc much better than recommended and for that price it’s not ok

Do NOT buy yet ! buggy and laggy and barely playable in current state... brutal price tag for a product this far behind in development.

Been playing AC and ACC for quite a few years. AC EVO, even though just in early access v0.2 at the moment, is a very solid base for a great sim. Cars just feel absolutely great to drive, which is the most important thing. I am sure it will get even better in the future with more cars and tracks. If you like driving sims, it's already worth it to buy.

For an early access game, I'm very impressed! I'm currently reviewing version 0.2 and using triple monitors on a sim rig and having occasional stutters in certain situations on different tracks, but nothing game-breaking. Immersion level is at 100 driving some of the road cars around my favorite tracks. The force feedback on my Fanatec CS DD+ is very good, not perfect, but still very good. I can drift, catch slides and get different information depending on the car I'm driving and tires I'm using. The modes are all underdeveloped at the moment but still fun to play career mode, complete license requirements, drive purchased cars, win races, gain notoriety and rake in the cash to buy more cars! All-in-all, while still very much an early access title, I have high hopes for this one and will be playing it until the day of release, and then playing it indefinitely afterwards. Nice work Kunos!

"game is a mess" "is not in a good place" yea... its early access? this game is great IF you buy this game knowing that its in early access. and suffers from what every early access game struggles with, lack of content, glitches, etc. This being said, this game has so much potential, the cars look incredible, this lighting stunning, and the option to fully spec out you cars from the paint all the way to the color stitching. if you want a driving sim with loads of content, the original Assetto corsa will be a better purchase for now.

Simulation wise, it's easily the hardcore racing sim where you find yourself the most connected with the car. Your car behaves in a way that "makes sense" and you always feel in control. Comparing to the OG Assetto Corsa, iRacing, Project Cars 2, rFactor and others, the new simulation engine is much more modern and it shows. And this applies all across the board: you feel how bad the brakes are in road cars from the 70's just the same as you feel how easy it is to induce rotation by over steering in GT3 cars, and none of them snaps out of control in way that you don't understand what happened. Counter steering and correcting with gas is intuitive in way that I've never seen before. The hardware you'll need, however, needs to be equally modern. Unfortunately there isn't much else to talk about besides the simulation engine at this point, as the "video game part" of this game is all but missing. I really LOVE the promise the AC Evo might deliver the same extent of features from a GranTurismo game, but in an actual hardcore simulator, but that's just promise still. AI drivers are equally poor still.
As of version 0.2.2
+ Driving physics feel superb, I really feel connected to the car and braking feels much more intuitive when compared to og AC, even with a Logitech G29 setup. All the cars feel amazing to drive. + Car customization, even if it is somewhat limited at this point. + Bathurst is a huge dub, personally. + Road cars, especially 964, are a great addition for a casual driving experience, but without a non-racing traffic map, the experience feels incomplete. + Car noises sound nice and do sound different from car to car, turbo noises are fantastic. + Great variety of car brands. + Interior details are great, minus the shifter movement. - No hotlap mode???????????? >:( Seriously, it really should've been there from the beginning, but I'm not a software dev, what do I know. - VR performance is alright at best, so far. Very choppy and I have to sacrifice my beloved mirror fidelity to run smooth. One would think 16GB VRAM is enough, but we will see. - Small car selection so far. This point gets removed at full release, but I selfishly hope they add more cars even after full release. (Mercedes 190E Evo II, Porsche 959 & 944 would have me boy cream for months) - I cannot destroy the engine nor transmission no matter what, its somewhat immersion breaking. (crashing full speed into a wall should destroy my vehicle, and not tickle) - Licenses suck butt so hard, but open mode is there so it kind of cancels out for now. - Really need the ability to add, remove, and move apps. - Shifter in first person only moves forward then back to neutral when shifting no matter the gear you go to, its minor, but this is how it was done in the og AC. - Could be called a heathen for this, but the ability to switch between imperial & metric???? It really doesn't exist???? - Why is the setting for removing driver hands unique to each car??????? - May be just me, but I really don't like the onscreen damage model, og AC's damage model was simple, yet I knew what was up with a quick glance. This one is too much and I can't even see axle damage (visually, but you can definitely feel it in the wheel). - I don't really like the generic crashing noises. Who knows, this could change, but I don't know how it could change. * I have not tried race weekend nor quick race, so I can't say anything about the AI yet. I have heard that it kind of sucks though and I really hope that it improves for the sake of the open world.
5/10 for now
I quite like it with some frustrations here and there, but I often go back to og AC for Nordschleife, SRP w/ traffic, car variety, and a smooth VR experience. When the open world mode comes out I would probably play ACE more. The potential for a 10/10 is very much there. However, for $40, I can't recommend the game to any shmuck. If you really like simracing and know you will play the game at release, I'd hesitantly recommend the game as it is.

Some day ACE will be the best sim out there and I will change my review to a positive one, of that I am certain. However, in its current status no, I do not recommend it since it is literally unplayable in VR with a GPU that surpasses the recommended specs. What is the point of releasing an early access so people can give feedback if we can't even run the game properly? That's the only feedback I can give so far, performance issues, serious ones.

Game is a mess right now. Buy it as a discounted pre-order and don't bother playing it until its fully released. List of issues I've experienced in under 2 hours of playing it over the last few updates: - Several random crashes when saving settings. - FSR 2 support is abysmal. FSR3 was recently added but the game glitches out and covers the screen in red after a few minutes. Impossible to continue playing when the entire screen is flashing epilepsy red. - Extremely limited car and track selection. - Very few features, game is extremely barebones and you'd be better served calling it a tech demo. - Menu items that lead to nothing. i.e. clicking "Open World" and being met with a blank screen. - Performance when navigating the menu is terrible. Moving between UI elements makes the FPS drop to single digits. My performance overlay shows 99% microstutter when clicking and moving between menus or changing options. - Game is now suddenly locked to 50FPS in the most recent update, even though I have refresh rate set to 100hz and vsync disabled on my simrig. - Performance and graphical fidelity don't really line up. As in, for the FPS I'm getting, the quality of the graphics isn't really blowing me away. - Tested the game on two PC's so far, first: Ryzen 9800X3D, AMD 9070 XT 16GB, 64GB RAM, 2TB 990 Pro NVMe. Second: Ryzen 5950X, NVidia 3090Ti 24GB, 32GB RAM, 2TB 980 Pro NVMe. FPS is extremely inconsistent on both rigs, and certain options absolutely demolish performance with literally no discernible improvement to graphical fidelity. - Vehicle textures are very slow to load. When you load into a race, your car looks like a blurry blob of random textures before it streams the high resolution assets in. There's also a good deal of microstutter, and the game doesn't do any shader precompilation. - Button mapping is terrible, there are no templates or profiles for popular wheels. I've got a Fanatec DD Pro and ClubSport Formula v2.5 which is a pretty popular hub and wheel combination, definitely not niche, and yet the game doesn't know what to do with it by default and you're forced to manually map everything one by one, including steering axis and pedals. - Button mapping is extremely manual, and there's no visual indicator to let you know if a button has been mapped already or what its currently mapped to if you press it again. This is a major step down from Assetto Corsa Competizione. Why have we regressed?? - There's no search functionality in button mapping so you're left scrolling up and down like an idiot looking for oddly named controls. - The game shows my steering wheel as four separate controllers in the input menu, I had to keep clicking around and mapping buttons to each "FANATEC WHEEL" until I found the "correct" one that responded correctly. I think the game is showing my individual wheel components like the base, wheel, pedals, and shifter. I know this is early access, but it's been 11 years since the first AC came out. This doesn't feel like early access for a game in its final stages of testing and polish. The game feels completely undercooked and VERY far from release. As I said before, this feels like a tech demo more than anything else. Did KUNOS need a cash injection? Are we 5 years away from release? Is performance gonna get better? Who knows! If you buy this game, treat it as a discounted pre-order. There's nothing here worth playing currently.
