A reskin of Thronefall, but without the polish. For such a simple input game, this has a lot of rough spots around UI. The tooltips are sometimes wrong, and likely need to be manually maintained. I generally just roll my eyes at games like this that overly put the story first, since its just a tower defense game, but the lack of audio/music, and the fact they try to lorify the tutorial, then at the end have to throw lots of easy to miss info on the side of your screen means they are doing it badly. A lot of the sounds are off, and things like their speech bubbles making no audio, and the cutscene being dead silent is extremely noticeable. If this was early access, then it would be no problem, but for a game that is a straight copy of an existing game, missing out on these low hanging fruit months after release likely means it wont get better. I'm just going to go finish Thronefall instead.

Desperate Place It's alright game for an evening or two but gets old quick. Gotta mention the translation is the worst translation I seen in a published game. Don't build walls just build troops and you will be fine. Dunno not much there, maybe in future devs will do something with it to inject that fun'ness into but right now, meh wait for that quality translation. I've played worse though, so giving this a thumbs up as it seems guy could do with some more sales.

While im not new to Tower Defense Games and strategy Games (heck i started gaming with the Settlers and C&C back in the 90s) this games is .. wierd. First of all, the Art is realy nice (and the main reason this game caught my eye). Didnt pay much attention to the sound as i was playing on my Steam Deck while i was on the way. As indicated by the compatibilty rating, some text realy is barely readable with an OLED Steam Deck. But all that goes out the Window, when the Gameplay-Loop feels unsatisfying and unbalanced. Might be me, as i have seen people who beat the game, but not beeing able to finish even one of the two maps that follow after the tutorial, on first try by a looong shot (like not even half the waves before dying) first confused me, after the second try angered me. - Did those two Damage Upgrades i bough after the first level even do anything? Didnt feel like it did anything at all, so why do they exist? - Whats up with that Turret-Pre-placement that doesnt make sense because guess what, "those flying enemys there come from a direction you have no turrets in, sucks to be you huh? lol" That those Turrets are unable to deal with the enemy waves at all in the very first wave is nuts if you try to compare yourself with a tower defense game ... like ususaly your able to defend at least the first couple waves with barebones towers like tower 1 wave 1, 2 towers wave 2 and get more resources out of the waves to build more towers. here you have to first invest those same recources in miners and get some change when defeating enemys (and im not even sure all enemys drop that stuff..). I want stress that im not against hard games. But this didnt feel like a hard game ... more like an intented surprise kick in the balls, as bad as it sounds. And im not even a tiny bit motivated to go online and look up what i did wrong, i just wanted a fun game without the need to study. So after that experience im gonna give it back and look on to other things.

Fun > Cost I enjoyed the time spent playing the game and thought it was worth the price. I enjoyed the game at launch and look forward to the updated version.

In this case its not easy to leave a negative review. There is a lot of good stuff here and clearly a lot of good work was done. I did really enjoy my 7 hours. There are huge balance issues with this game. Usually specialized towers deal with specific threat but in this game they just dont do what the suppose to. Every point You use for upgrade or build is crucial and using them on expensive towers that doesnt work is not a great feeling. There are plenty of characters but most of the ones I unlocked felt useless compared to others.

I like the game, i really do. but the english translation still needs a lot of work which is annoying and can lead to confusion.. but my real gripe is with enemy fire being completely target locked, once an enemy fires at you; there is absolutely no way of avoiding the damage. which is terrible, i cant stand it, its such a bad mechanic. I kind of assume it was chosen for simplicity reasons, but it makes the game damn near unplayable imo.

TLDR: Game feels really bland. Can't recommend it sadly enough. I like the art design tho. I do not like: - It feels like cutscene should have sound, while it does not. - Grammar mistakes, most common is misplaced "," here and there. I guess the devs are not native english speaking from some peculiarly written lines (I'm not native as well) and it's perfectly fine, but this is just proof reading that's missing and that's not a good thing. - Difficult to read text blocks. It's a combination of the font that needs adjusting to, text blocks size that sometimes makes text go to a new row in a weird place, peculiar way to formulate things and grammar mistakes. - For some reason sounds of guns shooting feel really weak and the game does not have a lot of other sounds. Same I can say about visualisation of bullets and rockets. It's just not enough for me - Not much to do for me as a player. I can move around and shoot, but my guns feel like peashoters as well, so there's not much point. - Feels too much of a puzzlegame. Thronefall (from which game is inspired I assume) felt less of a puzzle if you don't take any modifiers, while here it's already feels like one. - I did not like how in revisiting the first level the game still forced me to a tutorial buildorder. I wanted to play that level differently on the second try, but couldn't due to this. Maybe things would improve if I played it more, but honestly I felt really bored even on the second map. Again I have nothing bad to say about the art direction, it's brilliant.
