This is a solid first take on a Brotato-style arena shooter. There are a bunch of frustrating things that make it less fun than Brotato: - It's a wave-based arena shooter in a small square, but the mobs never reset between waves, so you never get to breathe. Brotato works so well because of the pacing of getting to the end of those last waves, having everything reset, and going in again. That doesn't happen here. If you have 40 mobs on you and 10 hp, it will be the same when you come out of the shop phase. Good luck. - Related to the above, the difficulty curve is out of whack to where it feels like you're in the endgame 3 or 4 waves in. The first few waves and games shouldn't feel like the player is getting their teeth kicked in. - There is no way to freeze or banish items in the shop, which is terrible for these games, which are so build-dependent. - Related to the above, The meta progression feels boring and a little too specific, buffing specific spells you're unlikely to get unless the stars align. 20 damage to a spell isn't something to get excited about. - This is similar with the relics you get during the runs. If I'm a fire build, getting a relic with a cool effect unrelated to the damage I'm investing in feels bad. It's better if the trees and relics are more general so any build can use them. - Some bosses and mechanics feel overly punishing. - Fire is far ahead of the other two elements right now. All things that can be easily tweaked and balanced as time goes on. Would love to see this dev continue to cook and add more spells, skills, characters, and levels. I'd also love to see a pass on the UI and HUD so they're as beautiful as the pixel art in the game. Keep it up!

I've been waiting a hot minute for this game to come out, and I jumped out of my chair in excitement when I saw that it released (let alone with a reasonable sale). I just finished a relatively solid run, and I can 100% say that this game is amazing, the devs cooked, and I'm excited to see what else they have in store for us for the future of this game! I will admit, it took me a minute to get a good grasp of everything, because at first I thought you don't keep gold or talent points when you died in a run, but I very quickly found out that I was having a skill issue moment. With that being said, the game is pretty brutal on your first run or two, but once you get some talent points to spec into your preferred element(s) (for me, I chose fire because it felt relatively good for enemies that came close, especially the fire aura ability) you can get the ball rolling at a nice pace. Speaking about pacing, it's amazing! For the hour or so I spent playing, there wasn't a point where I felt like I was becoming overpowered or wasn't being underpowered (besides like your literal first run because you don't have any equipment or talents). It all flowed really nicely, and it leaves a lot of nice space for more to be added in the future without feeling overbearing. The music, although it loops, is a fu***ng banger! Even with the loop, I was low key jamming out to it because of how well it fit in with the aesthetic of the map and dungeon! And the art style is just *mwah* chef's kiss! Even the enemy designs are amazing! Oh, and the character you play as (I'm gonna nickname them Wallow >:)) looks beautiful! I love how they change their look during your runs based on what elements you use! One thing I would adore to see in this game, without a doubt is something that involves mushrooms! Whether it's a simple cosmetic, enemy, a whole mushroom element (which would low key be so bad ass to have), or a sing mushroom in spawn, I'd love to see it! Overall, sale or no sale, I 1000000% recommend this game, it's so much fun, and I'm sure you'd have a lot of fun as well! Final raitng 9.9/10 (gotta see what more is cooked with this delicacy)
