First let me say that this game is beautiful. The pixel art, incredible stop-motion animation, and soundtrack combine to make a beautifully eerie and atmospheric setting. Each component translates so well to the sense of dread, despair, and hopelessness that so well accompanies the topic of Witch Trials. I wasn't sure what to expect going into the game but was incredibly impressed; it's short, probably takes about 25 minutes to go through the first time, and is well worth multiple playthroughs (I think I did 4? Maybe 5?) to ensure that you're getting every piece of the story. Once I put all of the pieces together and the meaning of the story hit me, everything really came together for a surprisingly impactful game.
As others have mentioned, to get the most out of the game it would be good to go into it with at least a little bit of knowledge of witch trials in your back pocket. It helps with the analysis and interpretation of the game and lends to a much more rewarding experience overall.
This is a genuinely beautiful, unsettling, and impressive folk horror game. One I will definitely be thinking about days from now.

The artwork in this game is gorgeous, particularly its stop-motion style cut scenes. The art style is beautifully creepy and surreal. The music is also great. It's a pretty short experience (I finished it in a half hour), but I am interested in playing it again to see if I can unlock additional dialogue that I may have missed the first time. I wish there were more dialogue options and investigative options, and I could really see this game being expanded so that your choices have more of an impact on what the villagers reveal. But I did feel like I was able to piece together most of the story and draw the intended conclusions, and it was definitely worth playing and it's clear the developer put a great deal of effort into this project.

This is an interesting short game that is well-presented, with appropriately dark visuals and music. The stop-motion cinematics are great. It is difficult to say much about the gameplay without ruining the story, but
suffice to say that this is not the Obra Dinn or Golden Idol, and players interested in testing their answers against the world may be disappointed. Perhaps the game needed another layer at the end, some greater conclusion that could exist while the point (spelled out in the forums) remains.
From a historical standpoint, I was surprised by the level of detail that made torture seem completely realistic—not in a physical sense, but in terms of the profound impact it has on the person who is the subject of the inquisition itself. Overall, it’s a great game that creates a typical dilemma for those who enjoy a storyline with an ending; it is, in itself, the disillusion/illusion of the mind of a religious radical.

Really gorgeous game, very clearly displayed the cruelty and absurdity of the witch hunts in an interesting way. Looking forward to see what else the developer may make in the future!

It's okay for what it is, but having read the developers intent for the game I wish that they put something at the end of each run through to drive people to replay the game a few times and then just fully explain things.
I got what they were intending on the first play through but it still didn't make the ending satisfying.

Atmosphere and interesting little horror game, wish UI overall will be more detailed as well as some text and lore things were more described to a player, but overall game worth a try!

A stunning and properly disturbing piece of art. A single play-through is very short, and while the actual gameplay is limited, it was very effective in emphasising the cruelty and horror of the (upsettingly accurate) experience.

Amazing artstyle and incredibly well researched, this game is a masterclass in atmosphere and mood. It's short but definitely worth the price.
