Refreshingly, unlike most other FMV games, this one does not put you in the shoes of a student (or at least there is not so much student-related content). The theme K-pop song is catchy and cannot be found via Shazam, so it must have been written specifically for the game. Some choices lead to a dead end (i.e. even if you reach the required affection points to progress to the next chapter, does not necessarily mean that two chapters later you won't have to go two or even three chapters back to change some of the choices to gain more points which could be needed a few chapters later).

Five Hearts Under One Roof is an incredible game that I’ve played countless times and never get tired of. What starts off as a cozy, story-driven experience quickly reveals surprising depth, clever mechanics, and emotional storytelling that kept me and my friends hooked. We ended up loving it so much that we started speedrunning it together, discovering new strategies and secrets every time. The characters are well-written, the puzzles are satisfying, and the atmosphere pulls you in from the first few minutes. Whether you're playing solo or sharing the experience with others, the game offers a lot of replay value. Every run feels different, and competing with friends only makes it more exciting. For the price, it’s absolutely worth it — I’ve gotten way more enjoyment than I expected. If you’re looking for a unique indie gem that keeps giving back, Five Hearts Under One Roof is a must-play.

I didn’t expect to enjoy this game so much, but I’ve already played over 100 hours. The game is designed in a very particular way where there’s no logical or “correct” choice to make. You can’t guess the right answer. The game encourages you to relax, try all the options, enjoy the high-quality videos, and even go for the weirdest choices (like dropping your pants when you first meet Mun-Jung). Once you stop taking it seriously, it becomes really fun. The cast and characters are fantastic. There’s Min-Jung — ultra-kind, soft, and feminine — sweet from beginning to end. Eunbi is a funny, friend-like character who jokes around and even defends you during a hilarious underwear scene involving laundry or a boxing machine. Other characters like the businesswoman add variety too. Whatever mood you’re in, try different routes. I personally liked Min-Jung and Eunbi the most, so I’ll focus on them as examples. What I really appreciate is how the game shows the girls’ beauty and charm without explicit sex scenes. Min-Jung’s first meeting or the café scenes are simply amazing — nothing visually sexual, but the actresses convey pure femininity through innocence, purity, and strong character. It’s brilliantly done. I’m not usually into anime or K-dramas, but from what I’ve seen online, this theme of girls being “unavailable” or innocent at first is popular in Korea, and I really enjoyed it. The characters attract you with their femininity and personality, while the game offers small but meaningful choices. The choice system isn’t very deep or well-thought-out, but here you should focus on the visuals and enjoy the experience rather than expect a complex plot or detailed character development. The connection you feel with the characters is strong. Eunbi’s jokes can be very specific — for instance, the hair tie joke at the mango café felt too Korean and was hard to fully grasp (maybe referring to some other "rubber item" for very close relations? who knows!), but it made me laugh anyway, especially with Eunbi’s infectious smile. Some characters feel a bit overdeveloped — Eunbi, for example, has four different story paths at the first meeting with her, each with three or four dialogue options, meaning 12 great videos full of jokes, different reactions, which I enjoyed and that allow you to know the character better. Meanwhile, Min-Jung’s presence is shorter — a small video in chapter 1, a bit more in chapters 2 and 3 where you spend time with her. Despite this, the actress did such an amazing job that Min-Jung placed third in the in-game popularity rating, despite having 10k fewer votes than second place (Mal-Suk).
Min-Jung’s storyline is a bit weak in terms of writing. The ending involves a strange choice about meeting her father, which feels disconnected — what does it mean for the player? You just watch it and move on. Then, there’s an odd choice about what to do if she becomes famous. The answer “I will wait for you” is confusing — wait for what exactly? When she become again not famous? The second option “give up” also sounds strange, though it actually leads to a positive result. The third option, “let’s go public about our relationship,” feels the most absurd and leads to failure. Overall, this is the most confusing and illogical ending with awkward choices. For example, at the moment of her first solo song — a culmination of her career and end of the game — if you say you liked the song and describe it in details, Min-Jung barely reacts. The question “why me?” also feels out of place, and one of the answers — a smile — is too banal for such a key moment. There are also hidden endings, including the most sexual ending with Eunbi, which is quite tricky to unlock on your own. If you’re curious, there are guides available to help find it. The acting is excellent. After 100 hours though you start noticing little details — like two empty bottles and three full ones on the table in the scene where Min-Jung gets soaked after the other girls pour water on her (the poor actress probably had to repeat the scene many times to empty all these 2 bottles). Or the first meeting with Min-Jung, where the cartoon boxes are clearly empty, and the small girl can easily carry them on her own. :D
The music is quite well and suits the atmosphere perfectly, adding to the overall good experience, nothing extraordinary though. The progress system is somewhat strange. You need to accumulate a certain amount of points by gradually choosing options that build relationships with characters, and later you need to go even in previous chapters for this. The game is designed for you to replay scenes multiple times, which at some point can be a little frustrating because it basically forces you to rush through the story initially in order to later enjoy the character interactions as you want. I never managed to get 100% progress in some chapters, so perfectionists might find it challenging. The game has subtitles, but I really appreciated hearing authentic Korean speech and voice acting. All the actresses performed wonderfully. I also enjoyed the bonus videos about filming and the small interviews with the actresses in the bonus section.

GOTY But being serious: is a fun game (albeit a bit short, I wish it was longer), it has some silly moments and running jokes and the main song is a bop that I wish it were in spotify. I got fun looking for alternative scenes. PD: Mal-sook is best girl

Its a gooner game but its a good gooner game. Its understand the player well enough to still be able to keep it mildly nsfw without it being fully nsfw. Best aspect is the acting is quite great.Wish they dwelled more into the plot of each characters but it still a enjoyable ride

If you are a person that goes for only one girl or like to make personal choices in a game like this, This game is not for you. This games visuals and story is great but the fact that you have to make specific choices to get to the next chapter in annoying. Why would you have choices if you cant make your own choices and go to the next chapter. Locking you out because you cant make personal choices is the reason i refunded this game. if in the future they add a system that stops the chapter locking thing i will change my review.

i feel like i lost 40% of my soul in the process but it was worth it and i have no regrets, i 100%'d it. my friend bought this game for my girlfriend but my girlfriend got pissed and didnt finish it. i took up the mantle myself and got the #jobdone while streaming it to them. it was certainly an experience. this review contains super spoilers but i would recommend this to anyone whom either: 1. is a gooner/fiend/porn addict 2. has a thing for asian women 3. wants a game they can pay 40% attention to while doing something else (achievement hunting) 4. if none of the above, it was a fun light hearted lil experience to play with friends. very silly, but has a few moments ur friends can point and say "holy smokes" at. the subtitles are also wrong pretty often but it ends up just being funny more than anything. the game is somehow too long and too short at the same time. i feel like there was a good amount of character development missing and they all jump straight to liking you too fast all at once. too many things arent explained such as why the attic girl is in the attic or why she turned out to be the phantom thief. there is also no harem ending which my dawg andre said was stupid. i would have preferred that honestly, i feel bad about rejecting so many people, while i feel bad for picking one sister over the other as well. fan theory: the phantom thief girl is supplying your family with the money and resources to go on vacation while owning such a large house. they dont tell you because she also steals from the player and their potential room mates. AND they steal from the entire neighborhood. if she has the capacity to steal to sustain herself in the attic, it is odd she is so stupid childish and dumb. this may tie in to the grandma character being a ghost. final ranking: 0. kpop star is my favorite character and she has the best endings imo where she succeeds in her solo career. the girls who bullied her did not receive any punishment which i dont like. just one thing that could use extra fleshing out. 0.5. sausage man gay ending is kinda cute but i wish that whole thing had more depth. 1. fundamentally the best ending is the office siren ending where you become the ceo and get $$$ 1. the mean girl house wife ending is sweet but shes doesnt have a job (its implied our main character is succesful so its ok but he is characterized to be a workaholic which is bad) i would put them both equal because the main character is implied in both that he works a lot and his relationship suffers slightly because of it but its a generally happy ending. kpop star has no drawbacks. both were cute but office siren ending had a cool interesting twist with the CEO being the security guard doing an undercover boss thing for his daughter. 3. the young sister doesnt have any good endings in my opinion. shes not a bad character, its odd she's like eight years younger than the MC and was taking baths with him though. the endings were just lame, like going to an amusement park and i completely forgot what her other ending was. 4. the girl in your attic is the devil and should not be considered at all in this ranking. she acts weird asf, acts like a little girl, acts stupid, drools, etc, then it turns out she was stealing from people around town the entire time in a secret ending. it is never explained where she came from or why she is in your attic. nothing good about this character. and im not tryna be a hater, but the other girls are all much more attractive and nice to look at, which matters when shes staring vacantly and drooling at the screen. sorry to that actress if she ever reads this. i was briefly happy for her in the ending where she GETS A JOB but looking back at her history its very bittersweet, if not just bitter. i like the in game interviews and stuff too. i would have appreciated more interesting rewards for completion tho. honestly there should be more romance content i feel like for a romance game there was a lack of romance. no hugs or nothing actually which is odd looking back on it. im giving every letter i got to the ceo sooo uhhh yeah that was fun easy 100% if ur patient. gots to see it through shout out my awesome girlfriend rutabaga for wanting me to play tihs game and shout out my awesome room mate lord dragovitz for buying her the game ...i bought this game afterwards so i could post this review. happy 2 support developers or whatever but definitely no replay value in this after the 10 hrs of completion are done.
