Rogue-Lite horror that really scratches the itch of the missing "OMORI" game. Especially with the countless rabbit holes that this game keeps leaving.
Keep trying things and put the story together. You surely missed something important.

The art is amazing and the game play is very fun.
The themes are very depressing but if you are fine with that it is 100% a game id recommend

I've had more than enough of those frustrating and RNG-dependent roguelites that demand me to go through exactly the same content innumerable times just to reach the end of the story. As a grown-ass adult, I don't have the time to waste with such nonsense, so this is likely going to be one more game in my library that I'll probably never finish. It's a shame, though. The general atmosphere, the lore and the story are interesting, I just can't be fucked with meaningless repetition anymore

Cute rouge-like. Love the pixel gore theme. Gameplay looks like nothing first glance, but you don't watch the hours pass once you're in. Endless replay-ability and the randomness and customization flow well with each other.

it's fun but losing a really solid run because my 85% accuracy gun and torch decided to miss 4 times in a row is really frustrating, and with the loop it'd be nice if you could skip through dialog you've already seen by holding z instead of mashing it
aside from that when rng doesn't mess you up it is enjoyable

This is ultimately a cool game, and I think lots of other people will get enjoyment out of this (96% doesn't lie), but I think one playthrough suffices for me. Which is ultimately disappointing, as this is a roguelike and you're meant to play it a lot.
I dunno, the gameplay just didn't engage me enough.

The gameplay content and roguelite nature is really bare bones in this game; You don't really have ludicrous builds or game breaking stacks of abilities or items. Same with the enemies and bosses, you dont really have much variety or mechanics other than various stat/item checks (Do you have enough DPS? Do you have ways to mitigate status effects? Are you able to escape?)
There is still essence of rogue-lite in it's design such as that permanent buffs currency and certain degree of randomness in progression (For example, the choices of encounters you have control of has a fixed encounter list which you are still rolling on so you can't really plan for a specific route)
However those are not the selling points but rather the smaller parts of it. Instead it's the "Experimental artstyle and storytelling", as is advertised on their description. You start of knowing nothing and you play and learn a little bit each time as you progress, piecing together information and coming to your own assumptions.
Really an interesting story telling piece with intricate lore that expands the more you play and unlock things.

No-Skin is a rogue-like game where each turn you get three random room choices to make. In these rooms you either get to fight monsters, find items, or engage with weird oddities. The goal of the game is to find the Skin of a monster called the No-Skin Man, which is a convoluted mess to obtain. This game has a deep rabbit hole of lore and secrets to discover, some may play for 5 hours and be satisfied, others may play for 15 hours and keep discovering new little pieces of lore.
+ The art style of the game is highly original. The enemies are interesting and disturbing.
+ The music in the game is hauntingly beautiful, in a Silent Hill / Liminal space kind of way.
+ The dialog is always engaging, very humorous at times.
+ A massive amount of secrets to dig up: hidden mini-games, hidden characters, hidden enemies, hidden gameplay elements to unlock.
+ Dreary, dreadful atmosphere that never lets up.
+/- On the surface the gameplay seems simple at first glance, however as you play more you will discover the gameplay is actually very deep and engrossing after you discover all the intricacies.
+/- There is a long and deep story here to dig up after playing for 10+ hours, but it is also a convoluted mess. In the end it's not really understandable or worth the effort of what the game puts you through to get it.
- There will be times you will play for hours, and make zero progress. This gets frustrating and tiresome.
Individual mileage will vary. For me, at 6 hours in, after unlocking all the perks, with 2 hours of trying to defeat the last secret boss to get the game's one achievement, my patience flew out the window and I'm moving on.
Had some fun while it lasted!
