Playtime: 110 minutes
This game offers an interesting mix of collection and survival horror. You spend most of your time exploring the maze-like mansion, gathering items for various quests. Items are gently highlighted, making it less about pixel hunting and more about learning the layout of the environment. However, the game's sudden shift from atmospheric exploration to near instadeath moments (thanks to monsters around blind corners) can be a bit jarring. While you can learn from your mistakes and the game autosaves frequently, I personally didn’t enjoy how easy it was to die without warning. I would have preferred a greater emphasis on the exploration and puzzle-solving elements, as opposed to the frequent jumpscares. For fans of jumpscares and atmospheric exploration, this game could be a solid 8/10. For me, though, it was more of a 6/10, as I found the difficulty and sudden deaths frustrating. It’s mostly playable with a gamepad, though you’ll need a mouse for certain elements like dialogue and inventory management.
