It's nowhere near as deep as the Hades games, but for what it is it's very good, After a couple of days of playing the dialogue and fights started to feel a bit more grindy and repetitive than other roguelikes of its ilk, however. I know repetition is the point, but I feel like I've kind of exhausted things, at least for now. I suppose playing with other people might give it more longevity, but I'm a twisted misanthrope.

Basic roguelike for the TMNT boys. Music is tonally relevant. The elements are IP-specific. Boss choices are dope. It's too basic compared to the kings of the genre to love but it is simple enough to enjoy with young people. 2/5: cowabunga dudes.

Game is not horrible, but it does not have enough content to give motivation to keep playing for a long time. Same scenarios every run, bosses have two variations and even then it doesn't change much to give real challenge. Progression is super slow, you have to play 50 times until you get something sort of useful, but is possible you will drop before that. Mobile game ported to PC, no much to expect...

The game itself is fine and I was really looking forward to play it - huge fan of Shredder's Revenge. It needs some more content to jusity the retail price, but it's a decent buy at a discount. Unfortunately the game has terrible technical difficulties on some machines - including mine. Huge loading times up to 5 minutes, game crashing during loading when starting a run, laggy menus and boss fights. I hope they manage to fix this, because the game is probably pretty good. I am just not able to play it at the moment.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate brings the iconic heroes in a half-shell into the roguelike genre with surprising confidence and a strong sense of style. Developed by Super Evil Megacorp, this is not the beat-em-up formula fans might expect, but rather a fast-paced, dungeon-crawling action game where each run presents new challenges, randomized levels, and opportunities to grow stronger. The game places players in the role of one of the four turtles—Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, or Michelangelo—each with their own distinct movesets and special abilities, making team composition and personal playstyle feel meaningful from the outset. Combat is at the heart of Splintered Fate, and it’s one of the game’s biggest strengths. Encounters are fluid, responsive, and satisfying, with combos, dodges, and skill-based maneuvers blending well with a system of upgrades and powers that evolve throughout each run. As players defeat enemies and progress through rooms, they gather resources to unlock abilities that can alter their builds significantly—turning Michelangelo into a chain-stunning whirlwind of chaos or letting Donatello hurl projectiles from a safe distance. These customization options give the game impressive depth, encouraging experimentation and replayability while maintaining the high-energy pace expected of the TMNT universe. The roguelike structure adds a compelling layer of challenge, with each failed run sending players back to a central hub where they can spend accumulated resources to improve stats, unlock new modifiers, or talk to supporting characters like April or Casey. While the story—focused on rescuing Master Splinter from a mysterious threat—takes a back seat to gameplay, it’s told with enough charm and comic-book flair to keep the narrative engaging. Fully voiced characters, sharp dialogue, and recognizable villains like Shredder and Krang add just the right amount of personality without overshadowing the gameplay loop. Visually, the game embraces a stylized, comic-inspired aesthetic that suits the TMNT franchise well. Each level—from city rooftops to sewers and laboratories—carries a vibrant, gritty atmosphere. The character designs are bold and distinct, and enemy animations are clean, though some environments and room layouts start to feel repetitive after multiple runs. Audio design enhances the mood with upbeat, synth-heavy tracks and energetic sound effects, while the voice cast does a solid job bringing the turtles and their world to life. One of the standout features is the game’s co-op functionality, which allows up to four players to tackle the chaos together. This elevates the experience significantly, turning already exciting battles into strategic, team-driven brawls. Coordinating skills, reviving fallen teammates, and balancing playstyles adds depth that solo runs can’t quite match. However, while multiplayer is the highlight for many, it's not without issues—online connectivity can be inconsistent, and occasional bugs and performance drops still need attention. Despite these technical hiccups, Splintered Fate holds up well on PC and Steam Deck, running smoothly for the most part. Updates have improved performance since launch, but minor stutters and co-op lag still appear sporadically. Beyond that, enemy variety is somewhat limited, and repeated level structures can wear thin over time, making the experience feel a bit grindy after extended play. Yet these flaws don’t outweigh the game’s energetic combat, strong customization, and fun core loop. Ultimately, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is a surprisingly competent and enjoyable roguelike that blends action and strategy with nostalgic charm. While it doesn't reach the same level of polish or narrative depth as top-tier titles in the genre, it offers a fresh, engaging take on the TMNT universe. With its tight combat, fun multiplayer, and rewarding upgrade systems, it's a worthy addition to any fan’s library and a promising foundation for future installments. Rating: 8/10

I've had an absolute blast playing this coop. It still has some bugs, but the overall fun factor is still there 100%.

I have had a good time playing this game with my TMNT fan friends, and you might have fun too if you have some TMNT fan friends of your own, but I can't recommend it. It's a fair Hades-style roguelike, and we've enjoyed it for something to play with each other casually. Obviously it's not as good as Hades, but that would be an unfair bar to hold it to. It's a multiplayer game, that counts for something and makes up for the combat not being as deep, or the enemies as varied, or the playstyles as distinct. But it's also a mess. Every single time we play, someone has connection issues, and maybe the controller doesn't work. You can't speak to people in the Lair if you're in multiplayer (but then you can't speak to them very much in the game at all, because there's not really much dialogue). Several times, story conversations were skipped entirely for no reason. If the host leaves a run for any reason, they can restart with all of their collected powers, but every other player will lose everything they had. We've just beaten a run, but the game hasn't given us credit for two of the shimmering portals that we had activated. Plus the story is shockingly incomplete. Minor spoilers:
After you rescue Splinter, the characters make a big show about finally taking the fight to the mysterious mastermind that has been behind everything. But they never do, you never find out who he is, and you never meet him again. Dialogue with every boss is reduced to the same three or so short exchanges every time you see them.
Was a little grindy. With a controller on steam, it was fun enough for a few days.

Sewer jokes aren't my favorite but they're a solid number two. This is easily my new favorite TMNT game. I love the new rogue lite features and I love seeing what new build I end up with in each run. The art style is fantastic and the boss fights are tons of fun. If you enjoy the turtles games then you will almost certainly love the crap out of this one!
