The writing is unhinged terrribad deviantart crap you could find just about anywhere. I was slowly losing interest from the first act forward. The fights range from boring to nearly impossible at certain points of the game.
Like some have mentioned, your import is not going to help by much. Have fun being nerfed with a gold cap and a level cap that intend to make you miserable.
To also optimize your pain levels, there is a lot, and I mean A LOT of opportunities where the game will soft-lock you out of lots of quests and secret rooms if you are not carefil. The one that really got me, and made me post a review, was where you had to get Imogene's sister back to Imogene's coven for a map to a secret library. The catch is, you MUST DO THIS BEFORE FIGHTING THE DRAGON OF MALICE AT ALL. Otherwise, you will not be able to even get the reward, and there is NO WARNING. THis leads me to believe this is bad game design. Good thing the dev is working hard on other games and living the best life on the French Riverea to busy himself with patching his magnum opus. (You think I'm kidding? Check his Quora profile or other SNS, fucking hilarious.)
I will also go through and beat the rest of this forsaken franchise, not for the fans of this crap, but for my own sanity, because I just have to see then end. I need to see the end and see this writing have a foul conclusion. If there are worse games, I would love to know about them, so I can rank this one against it.
