this game sucks!! Waste of my money. To start off with, the window for x-plane only covers half of my screen with the desktop in the background. Also, there seems to be no startup menu, just a quickflight menu where you can only choose your aircraft (which is pretty hard to do since it's formated as folders), time of day, weather, airport (cannot even choose a gate or runway), and that's it. I used to have FSX but was forced to change since my graphics card did not read FSX and honestly, I rather play FSX with horrible graphics than play X-Plane. Stay with FSX!!!

I am a pilot. I Flown helicopters Huges 500, Bell- Huey,206, Aerospatiale gazelle, and fixed wing. Flight physics are great . Instrument flying is great is good enough to be able to log time. But the problem with that is that its not FAA approved. And thats all about money . By all rights we should be able to log the time we practice IFR approches VOR approches.. Any way I Highly recommend this if you are planing on becoming a real world pilot. So you can be ahead of the curve when check ride time comes around. A book is fine to learn from but you will be glade when you already have procedures down pat!

If you are coming from FSX to X-Plane than understand this is a sim designed to model aircraft with far more aerodynamics than FSX. While aircraft in FSX work pretty darn well when compared to the real world, X-Plane takes aircraft flight dynamics to a new higher level. Many people get put off instantly at the difficulty of flying a simple Cessna for the first time in X-Plane. Heck m,any can't figure out why the plane instantly wants to turn left once throttling up for the first time. But trust me, if you are a flight sim lover, and are seeking realism but not wanting to shell out $200 for Prepar3r sim, this is a great place to hang out with X-Plane. As with FSX add-ons and free as well as great payware will enhance the experience down the road if you stick it out. I have a fully setup FSX running, and I am now moving towards X-Plane to try to experience as close to real world flight characteristics as possible.
