this was the biggest regret of my life and still is to this day

While doing some research for my own game, I stumbled upon Overruled. Whilst my game has always been described as a live-action Worms party game, this is a party game actually developed by the Worms team! Call it synchronicity or serendipitous or whatever, I'm glad I found it. In our game (Gem Wars: Attack of the Jiblets) we have a "Mixed Mode" where the game mode changes periodically, in this game the game mode is in constant flux as part of the gameplay. It's all very interesting and very fun. if you cant port forward or use upnp dont buy no one hosts server if you want muliplayer you need to play locally and singleplayer is hard and not fun i do not recommend

Overruled is one of the best chilled out fun indie games you could wish for to play locally or just over steam with friends. Works best with voice chat and having a good all round laugh!

Fun as hell. Things can get really crazy on that game. I recommend getting the 4-pack because there is no one playing. It's worth a shot though.

UPDATE. The developers added an option to disable UPNP, so now I can host a game. I will update my review once I get to play! Thanks for that. Note that the game insists on forwarding a fixed port. Please make this user-configurable? A command line switch, a text config.ini file, anything. I play on a laptop and a PC, and the only way to host on one or the other is to edit the router settings each time.

Overruled has more twists than your favorite reality television show, and more strategy too! Overruled is everything you could possibly enjoy in a madcap multiplayer game. There are cards that change the rules at any time, which could help with timing in respawning, timing for your projectile weapon, or the amount of points possible, or the very game themselves. The rule is simple - get as much points as possible, but how you get those points (and how much) depends entirely on the rules randomized every 30 seconds (or presented by a fellow player) But at one point during the game, you have an "OVERRULED" card which negates any card presented on the table, so it's a game of juggling not only the platforming and combat, but the very rules and scoring themselves. Play according to your skill set, or hinder your opponents on their best skill set. It's a very addictive game, and can't wait to see new levels, new characters and possibly more "twists" as the game continues.

Tried too many times to make this work in LAN multiplayer. Doesn't work. Shouldn't be hard as ALL my other Steam games work perfectly, but this one just doesn't let us join each other's session, even with the integrated STEAM invite. I stopped trying, my buddies stopped trying.
