I don't think this is actually a game so much as something that you can click on now and then?

Extremely basic, most of the gameplay can be summed up as spam clicking whichever button the game tells you to with the 'not enough X' prompt. No pause menu, no way to exit to main menu while in a 'run' which is just constantly moving goalposts within the same run for no substantial reward or outcome, the upgrades for creatures seem to come every few quest/milestones but without any metrics or numbers, no data, it is impossible to know what is actually happening based on your choices in many parts. The game doesn't communicate cooldowns or reasons why during gameplay, that you can't summon more animals, why it randomly restarts when playing the main mode. I assume there was a lengthy explanation in their tutorial option, but then I'd have spent just as much time reading the tutorial as I did spamming the rabbit button for when it's cooldown was over, to add yet more rabbits to the game, even though it didn't seem like the 20 bears I had, cared that only 1 fox was left alive. It feels like there is no strategy because I get no feedback to any of my actions, there is no graphs, bars or information telling me that I'm doing wrong, besides the one textbox middle bottom which tells you 'add more rabbits' for half the game. Upon writing the thing about the tutorial, I prompted myself to open it, only to get 4 instructions about the points counter being something I want, and not just a lifebar to keep above 0, but to completely reset the player each time they reach it seems almost counter productive to a lasting run among other things. It did indeed answer my questions but now I am left with question as to what the point is. The tutorial could have been a forced first-start thing and upon closing could be prompted later from a menu, there is no reason why the tutorial consisting of 4 boxes, couldn't have just been a part of the game, when it immediately puts you into the 15 minute timed gamemode anyway. The AI creatures run around and clump into groups but then I can't tell if things are being eaten or died from old age, or why things are dying. There is little to no information about any action you take or presenting the results of those actions, more babies for rabbits but how many babies, time between eating, but how long. Nothing feels impactful because I don't know what I'm working with. I liked the concept though, with more information it could be a responsive gameplay loop, the animals have some variants and the island at least tries to feel alive with some different plant life and things moving around. It could have been much worse but the game has potential moving forward. I don't know what I really expected from a $3 game, but what I did get felt more like a tech demo in parts. I do hope the developer keeps working on the game, but we shall have to see if they can work with the potential the game currently has.
