There are lots of levels (12 in total), each one filled with nice environments, cute cats to find and accompanied by a story. I do wish we had the ability to read the text of the story all at once rather than waiting for it to be spelled out letter by letter. Pretty short, but touching story! I'm a big fan of cats and wholesome witches, and this delivers!

This is more than just hunt the kitties, that is just part of the game! you inherited a creepy house from your aunt and luckily for you, you keep a journal, so as you go through each room searching for whats there, and finding cats all over the place, some very well hidden, you also notice important things to note down. The artwork is great, its on a coloured page and the cats, once found, sparkle in a different colour, since they are magic. Of course they meow as well. Some of them can be very tricky to find indeed, if you read the discussion page! It all appears to be hand drawn, too. Even the music has a bit of sparkle to it, though i turned it down after the first couple of levels. If you are into achievements, there are plenty to get, but if you try speed-running through this you will miss out on the important information contained in the journal that helps you get them. This game is more than find the hidden cats, you also have to work out what else you need to find to successfully complete the story, and sometimes while the brain is willing, the eyes are simply too cross-eyed to do as they are told! Its a game to relax and enjoy, and who cares how long it takes?

art: 4/5 concept: 5/5 (combining a witchy-narrative with the cat theme is brilliant) execution: 3/5 (odd screen-tearing issues on a high-end monster-rig running a 2d hidden object game? when game is not in full-screen you will not be able to access the entirety of any given puzzle. one MUST play in full screen - it took me about half an hour to figure that out. achievements based on overall number of cats found rather than puzzles completed.) challenge: 1-2/5 hints: conditional (IF one finds a particular hidden object early on in the game then hints will be unlocked. if one doesn't find said object and can't find all cats then subsequent levels will be soft-locked until all cats are found. at least this was my experience) types of hidden objects: 2ish secret hidden objects: yes no. of puzzles: 5+ unsure because i couldn't find final cat on (middle? final?) level and was unable to progress. music: 5/5 (beautiful, peaceful akin to games like Abzu, Journey, and Flower) note: the mechanics are not immediately clear and this was the first hidden-cat game in which i had to check the community page to understand what was happening: one had to find some of the secret hidden objects, of which i wasn't even aware of, in order to proceed past a certain point. It was surprising to discover (on the community msg board) that there are certain objects which need to be found (which weren't immediately obvious) which need to be met in order to progress and another that one must find to unlock hints. i also find the price to be rather high when compared to other similar games that do not have these issues or odd game design choices. I would argue that a better value for this experience would be 0.99-1.50. all of that being said, i appreciate the work put into this game and despite its flaws I enjoyed myself. I just cannot recommend at its current price point.

Tiny Cats caught me off guard with an adorable magical storyline and some really entertaining features that set it apart from the average cat-clicking games!   A young girl inherits her recently departed Aunt's house, but she quickly learns that the house is slightly haunted...by the spirits of hundreds of adorable magical cats! She is determined to find, save, and purify the spirits of her Aunt's beloved cats, one room at a time.   As you progress, journal entries magically appear in a Diary. These entries slowly piece together the story, as well as vital clues of items to look for, such as a Letter, a Crystal Ball, or a fallen book.   There are cats everywhere; some are just hanging out in the open, some are cleverly hidden in or behind other items, and some are simply invisible! These spirits can only be seen when your magic wand cursor hovers over a spirit's hiding place. Spoiler:🐾[spoiler]keep your eye out for suspicious pawprints[/spoiler]    Once you have located the object/clue, a secret entranceway will be revealed. You will eventually unlock the Attic, the Laboratory, the Apothecary, the Library, the Reading Room, the Bedroom, the Closet, the Kitchen, the Crystal Room, the Greenhouse, the Garden, and the Pantry, each packed with adorable cat spirits.   If you are looking for a cat-searching game that has something more to offer than just clicking on cats, look no further. This is a cute and relaxing game. It's better than the hidden cat games from Traveling Cats, but not as good as the ones from Nukearts or Devcats. You can definitely see the inspiration from Devcats in this game. What some of you won't be prepared for is that in this game, it is a must to read the story of each room. They're short blurbs, but there's no way to speed fill the text. You have to wait for it all to 'type' out or close the diary while it finishes and come back to in a moment or two. It will tell you what you're looking for in each room beyond the obvious 'cats'. The developers wanted you to read the story they created for this game, and they made it mandatory to do so. If you're floundering about and getting upset that you can't figure out how to continue or fully complete the game, not having read the diary's entries will most likely be why. I think it's very worth the $4 price tag. TL:DR If you felt this review was too long, this game definitely isn't for you. XD
