There is a lot of potential! What intrigued me the most about this game is how many friends you can play with. 8 player co-op in a roguelike seemed chaotic and fun, and for the most part it was. Regardless, this game needs some love. The lack of variety in weapons and quests is what brings this game below the bar for me, then you have to remember that its only in early access. The devs seem to be actively listening and updating the game. This game has the potential to be a really great, fun, and classic roguelike. I am excited to see where it goes!!

it's fun but it's so hard to get past the first level. the enemies scale at an incredible rate and your hero doesn't do too much

LORT is if Risk of Rain was an irreverent high-fantasy comedy cartoon game, and I think the devs have executed on it quite well so far. I'm having a great time playing the mage guy and find the kiting combat to be super fun and challenging. The boss encounters are very engaging and demand use of your whole kit. Just be aware that the game is difficult especially if you have less than three players, so if games that are hard and punishing aren't your thing then this title is likely going to be a bit frustrating for you.

Hi!
I bought this game hoping for a good game that I can sit down and play on my crappy laptop. And it delivered all right! I love this game and am hoping to beat the game. Plan to review again after playthrough!

A solo player's perspective...
I feel it's my civic duty to give this game an honest review and with that, this game is good! Especially being from an smaller dev. First let me address the elephant in the room. The difficulty. I'm seeing a lot of reviews expressing their frustrations with the heavy difficulty. I've been playing on normal difficulty and yes it's tough. The Battles are intense, and there is a heavy reliance on the utilization of healing vials and evasion movement. This game, especially playing solo, can prove very challenging, which is what makes it fun. The victories aren't simply given to you.
However that being said, this is one of those games where you will have to grind. Each successful extraction makes your characters stronger. Similar to borderlands in the sense at higher difficulty, you will die....a lot, especially when you're first starting out, which is why you need to make sure you're getting as many useful powerups as possible and ensuring your prioritizing rune juice upgrades that increase your survival chances such as increased healing vial capacity, overall health, etc.
Which brings me to my next point. The currency you should be chasing hard is rune juice as they're responsible for giving you permanent buffs that will make you're character strong overall, whereas gold only makes you strong for one match by opening the chests throughout the map, giving you buffs solely limited to the that current match.
As far as content, there will need to be more added to increase the longevity of the game's success, however with the content that's out now, and the new character that's set to drop, this allows the devs some additional time to add to their roadmap before it's too late. Two major lanes of easy content addition are new characters and additional rune juice upgrades added to the rune juice guy's inventory.
As far as progression, this game wasn't designed to be a story driven game. I often compare it to playing zombies on cod or hopping into an online multiplayer match. It's fun, but there's no story progression nor does there need to be and that's where I think the expectations of a lot of these reviews become skewed.
This is a game you can casually hop on, grind, do as many runs as you want, and upgrade your arsenal over time.
As far as the price, I find it ironic that a lot of people are saying the price tag isn't worth the game in it's current state even though it's very affordable and there's a lot of playtime packed into the title already.
In summation, I do recommend this game, whether you're playing solo or with a team because it offers countless hours of fun adventure.

did 2 player coop...feels like the game is meant for more people and low players makes the game hard af. dont recommend even if you have multiple people, boring combat and abilities

I understand it’s Early Access, so the lack of content and variety could improve over time, but the game follows a familiar formula without adding much of its own, which makes it feel repetitive after a few runs. It may get better later, but in its current state, it doesn’t offer enough to stand out.
