The Dev's have backtracked, so will I.
I didn't want to be negative, I really dig this game (700+ hours, no ♥♥♥♥) and props to the devs for making it..
However; "We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further! And I will make them pay for what they've done!"

During one of the main quests this DLC provides, you can choose to oversee an investigation, do the investigation yourself, or not be bothered with it at all. If you choose to merely oversee the investigation and thus not insult the competence of your officers whose duty it is to investigate by doing grunt work yourself, you miss out entirely on a significant section of gameplay as well as material rewards.
There is no warning of this, no way of knowing it when you make the choice. Just say goodbye to those items, that area of exploration, and a side quest that it unlocks.
Who the ♥♥♥♥ thought that this should be something the player can totally unintentionally lock themselves out of? Why am I not allowed to go to the area and explore it regardless of how I choose to handle the investigation? Absolutely awful design in a game that is well over 150 hours long, which is entirely unreasonable to expect people to do multiple playthroughs of.

Probably my favorite DLC for the game so far, absolutely worth the money. Tons of content, & Kibellah is an extremely interesting character with a great romance & several potential resolutions to her character arc over the course of the story.

Some of the best content in the game comes from this DLC. Amazing story, quests and characters, amazing new companion. Everything about it is great. It also fits so well with the rest of the game that I thought many parts of it were just base game content. Void Shadows is absolutely mandatory if you are going to play Rogue Trader. 10/10

My favorite DLC in the game so far. Kibellah quickly became one of my favorite companions and a permanent part of my squad up until the final boss, and by the end of the game she was a whilrwind of death capable of cutting half a dozen enemies into ribbons in the same turn despite the fact that I completely neglected giving any ranged weapon skills or gear. I also found her oddly endearing, especially after completing her whole questline, and I enjoyed her unique way of speaking as well as her unshakable loyalty. I love my hot goth bodyguard.

This is part one of a three part review series for the currently available (as of June 30th, 2026) DLC packs for Owlcat’s Rogue Trader CRPG. Each of the DLC packs contain three new “big quests”, a new companion, and a few smaller “little quests”. The new content is woven into the main narrative of the base game, rather than being totally isolated experiences, and the quality of this integration varies a bit. Generally speaking, I do believe that each of the DLC packs are worth your money and your time, but there are some conditions to that, and they are by no means equal. I will do my best to spoil as little as possible for each expansion, but I will be discussing some specifics that might influence your purchasing choices when necessary. You have been warned!

This will be the shortest of the reviews, because this was my favorite of the three expansions by a wide margin and I don’t want to spoil anything. I enjoyed every single part of it! All three of the big quests were great, there were multiple interesting plot twists and fun narrative surprises, the new companion and her new class archetype are very cool, and the little quests added a wonderful amount of depth and world building to the game on its own as well as the 40K fiction.
The vast majority of the content here takes place aboard the flagship, and it’s a very welcome change compared to the base game. We as the player already knew that the flagship was vast before this expansion came out, but seeing that vastness with your own eyes makes it feel so much more special. All of the new decks that can be visited are very cool, especially the Astropathic Chapel. The music in this DLC is also excellent, again, especially in the Astropathic Chapel.
I literally have nothing bad to say about this expansion. It’s almost necessary to complete the experience in my eyes. It’s a must-purchase!

Lots of extra new interesting locations introduced, mostly on your ship, which blends in flawlessly even if you are in mid game.
With all the battles, dialogue, and locations, it really is 15hrs of content.
The new companion is a hit and run assassin type that is heavy on bleed and Damage Over Time debuffs/buffs.
The story is good but not as amazing as the other DLC, Lex Imperalis.

Absolutely essential and very well done, seamless addition to the base game, great writing and dialogue, acknowledgment of the dlc faction and companion throughout the entire game is the highlight, the bloodspun web is an amazing faction and kibellah, even if she wasnt overpowered,i would take her everywhere becouse she is my favourite companion in this game, and maybe in all of the owlcat RPG games
if you played other owlcat DLC and are doubting wether you should buy, this one is the rare if not the only one you should buy and it will not be a pointless side story or some one off nonsense,it integrates into every chapter greatly and is a addition to the main story, not its own thing
I am exceptionally glad i got this dlc on sale and that my first playthrough was with it,becouse i cant imagine playing without it,its quality makes it integral

It's the best, 10/10 and it actually raised up the quality of the base game with it, and it's success ensured we got another season pass.
Kibellah is amazing and no mary-sue. I'll never forgive you if you're mean to her!
