Archean is the best marriage you could ever ask for between two games, Kerbal Space Program and Stormwork's! If you love those games this will be right up your alley, also has full orbital mechanics like ksp with the option to have N-body Physics too if desired! I run this on a fully AMD build, 5600x cpu and 6600 gpu and it runs well, so AMD users don't worry! The dev is constantly updating the game and adding new features, the latest was full pressure for builds. That allows you to create boats or submarines and my favorite, Custom fuel tanks. I highly recommend this game and as of writing i have 246 hours logged, it does include full scripting but i still can't wrap my head around that, still have loads of enjoyment out of this even though i haven't figured out the scripting lang yet. Pick this up, right now this is the closest thing you will get to stormworks in space done right!

I love the concept, but at the moment it's just a concept. I strongly suggest to wait couple years before buying. Pros: - Computer. Wish other games would consider a 'double' approach of code+nodes like this. - Scale of construction - Very few games consider implementing resources this way, most just pop 'pure iron ore' magically Cons: - At the moment there is just a facy creative with resource gathering. No survival, character is all that you need. - Capabilities seem extreme, but there is no challenge to apply them to. - I feel the way connections work is rather bothersome. 1 to 1 connections scheme results in too many wires. There are junctions and routers to split data wires (both of which need tooltips), to make data connections less cumbersome, but even power wires are 1to1 connections, so if you are placing, as an example a row of wheels, each needs a junction or an individual power cable. - Computer UI needs some improvements, ex: I messed up some wheels and needed to swap nodes, but the only way was to either 'rewire' nodes or delete them, I couldn't just ratarget outputs at different ports (not from node editor at least) Trying to copy a program from one computer to another or save program to sowhere else didn't work (or UI isn't clear enough).

Archean looks incredible, and you can definitely see some inspiration from Stormworks. However, the UI is terreble, and I’m not a fan of the live-building. The game leans heavily on coding for functionality, whereas Stormworks, while complex and time-consuming to learn, doesn’t require programming knowledge. The world also feels empty, and while you can build cool creations like in Stormworks, there’s not much purpose beyond the act of building itself. Since it’s still in early access, there’s potential for it to become a great game, but for now, there are quite a few things that need to be figured out before I’ll revisit it.
